Cemitas for the longest time had been my go-to for takeout, although my neighbors/friends would tell me about their bad experiences. This time is the draw for me. When they first open till about a year ago, food seemed fresh, employees seemed attentive and prices were reasonable. Lately their food has been okay but, since i loved this place i didnt want to give up on them. This time there was thick black hairs all up in the cheese burger (so many strands of hair) I purchased for my daughter within the meat and cheese. The last time the burger was raw. Very disappointing, upsetting and disgusting. I tried calling them multiple times before they closed and they didn't answer. You lost a loyal...
I wanted to provide an update: as I mentioned earlier, I did go back. This time I ordered a beef torta, but they mistakenly gave me one with breaded chicken instead. I observed their cooking process and noticed they mix all different cuts and meats together, which results in everything tasting quite similar. Additionally, they seem to overcharge on taxes; New Jersey's tax rate is 6.625%, yet they charge 7%. While it may not seem like a significant amount, it feels unfair to customers.
Second time ordering the Mexico City Tacos. Absolutely excellent and consistent. Most importantly Cemitas is not too salty like a lot of other Latin restaurants. Try the pastor or chorizo, they are simply excellent.

The amount of chicken on the torta was disappointing, despite its great flavor. The salsa was too watery for my liking. However, the big chips were excellent and offered great value for the money.
The flavors were decent, but I wasn't a fan of the textures. The nachos were quite soggy, and the quesadillas were too floppy and fell apart easily.
The best authentic tacos! The churros are amazing too. Everything is always fresh and delicious!
