We used get pizza from Cookery Nook an reckoned it was the best in the Belconnen area. We always got Supreme. The new owners have changed the recipe, adding far too much mince and leaving out the pepperoni. We tried another sort, asking them to add olives, anchovies, and pepperoni. It was a bit closer to the old recipe, but no pepperoni. I don't think they use it. We will look for pizza elsewhere in future. The cafe next door, which the new owners bought with the pizza shop, has been shut down.
Cookery Nook make and serve easily the best tasting Pizza's in Belconnen, forget about franchise crappy cardboard tasting pizza go and try the REAL deal! Their other menu food is also quite tasty and very reasonably priced. The staff are all very friendly and always up for a chat. I highly recommend the pizza with the lot then ask them to add anchovies and fresh chilli, you won't be disappointed.
The food at this restaurant is consistently great, and the staff are wonderful. It seems that the negative reviews come from people who are expecting a higher-end dining experience. This place is a classic suburban takeout spot, so just appreciate it for what it is. These types of restaurants are becoming increasingly rare, so enjoy it while you can before it's taken over by a large corporation.
I have eaten from the Cookery Nook for the past 25 years, and have seen it go through a few owners. The current owners may just make the best pizza the Nook has seen and its seen some good ones. I recommend all their food. It is a traditional take away Pizza, Fish and Chips, Charcoal Chickens. Nothing fancy but everything tastes great. They take pride in their food and it shows. Last night we arrived in ACT for a concert and this morning we decided to buy pizzas for the trip home. The pizzas were large and reasonably priced, as well as delicious. We were surprised by the negative reviews. The man at the counter was friendly, helpful, and clean. The restaurant itself was also clean. We will definitely return in the future!
I CAN NOT and WILL NOT eat pizza from another place again....they make the best pizza I'm Canberra, their burgers are pretty **** good and the bacon and egg rolls are just awesome! The slow roasted chickens are some of the tastiest I have devoured and most of all the service is friendly, down to earth and always inviting.Recommended!
They have THE BEST pizza in Canberra I've ever tasted. Waiting time is also not that long and they have friendly staff. It's cash only basis though so get the moolah ready before picking up your pizza.
