We dined at the Drunken Admiral as a special treat as we were visiting our son in Hobart. The decore is nautical and very interesting but thats where the acolades fonish. I ordered the seafood platter and our children had numerous other dishes. There were 4 in the party and only 3 meals arrived. Being patient I decided to wait 10 minutes before asking the waiter about my meal. His reply was to be patient as they are busy. Another 10 minutes....now 20 I again enquired about my meal. 5 more minutes and my meal arrived cold soggy and a very poor excuse for a seafood platter. Attended this spot last night and it was fairly busy but they gave us a 8:30pm booking. Food and drink service was good and the portions generous. My only complaint was that on a simple seafood tasting plate which included two natural oysters I asked for two of the cooked ones which were on the oyster menu (and the same price) and they refused to do this and when your paying over. $100 a head for your meal was a easy request
Loved this place when we visited Tassie. We did not know where to go, and we stayed in the big chancellor and literally went to the street. Love the topic and the decor. I feel as if I were on a ship. Loved the food. Shrimps were incredible. Best seafood. Cocktail was so delicious! The fish was nice, but the rice was a bit hard in places, but overall, so yummmm
One of my girlfriend recommends me a drunk admiral. Once I tried out the oysters, which is the best. Maybe because the oysters is so good, for the smooth grilled blue eye fillet it's okay. Nothing special for me. As for the dessert, I selected Scotch Butter Pudding. It's too much for a person.

My 8-year-old son insisted that this was a "five of five out of five" because the delicious chicken strips and the desert, though I'm sure the fun decor helped. The Chowder was delicious like the tasting plate and the Fishermans Hot Pot. A real 5 out of 5.
An impressive night. The nautical topic really liked me and the seafood fits. Chowder filling and the shells bursting with taste. Incidentally, the serving sizes are massive. Service for most of the largest part. A great food shop.
Donuts!!!! Now that I've got that out of the way, let us talk about the amazing seafood, great atmosphere and lovely service. We will be back next year when we come down for a conference. We need more donuts and ice cream!
Ordered the steak that absolutely melted in you mouth, the cherry and apple ciders locally owned and brewed were awesome. Seemed like a very busy place, we had not booked but would be advisable to guarantee a table

We found the food good and tastie, service was good but a bit slow, interesting decor worth entering for a meal, great selection of local seafood, I had the Barra, portion was a bit small but adequate for me
Really funny and quirky place. The service is friendly and fast and the seafood are fresh and delicious. Maybe a touch expensive, but ideal for sharing.
