Hidden gem. Was hungry, and this place happened to be nearby. And whoa did I luck out! Amazing staff, great food, and good prices. Atmosphere: 8/10: seat yourself in a small mom and pop/hipster environment. Kinda small but totally cute and tolerable if you can snag a seat before the rush. Can feel very crowded. Lots of people over 50 years young when I was here. For me, I love being around a mature and unpretentious crowd, and this was a selling point for me.. haha. I have only one grandparent left, and it just feels nice to be around wise and cute people. Anyway, I digress! Lots of ducks (toy ducks) everywhere and it's clean. Not sure if I saw a bathroom... but otherwise, ace place! Bring a...
Duck's Cosmic Kitchen
111 New St, 30030, Decatur, United States Reservation"I ordered the pork tenderloin special, which came with maple-glazed sweet potatoes, corn casserole, and broccoli casserole. While I wasn't a fan of the cornbread, everything else was delicious! The pie was absolutely fantastic! It's a charming little spot that you definitely need to check out!"

Formerly Duck 's Cosmic Kitchen the name changed in 2013, according to Eater Atlanta. I haven 't been here in a long while, which is strange because I thought the place was pretty fabulous when it opened in 2005. But I do enjoy their donuts regularly at Dancing Goats. Today I decided to break my long Duck drought and headed over for lunch. A great day to eat outside in their courtyard. At first, I had to figure out where the door was. Years ago, you ordered from the trailer like building where the bakery/kitchen is and took your food either to an outside seat or inside a dining room located in the building to the back right. They now have a proper restaurant space and that dining room is som...
This is one of our favorite lunch spots but don't expect a late lunch, Duck's closes by 4pm on weekdays and 3pm on Saturday. It's not open Sunday or Monday at all. Sit in the lovely, breezy courtyard and enjoy a fresh and delicious sandwich, brunch dish, soup or salad. The food is seasonal and locally sourced you can definitely tell that the food is house made on the spot (expect a little bit of a wait). I often have the shrimp cakes or the lemon hummus. The pimento cheese is delicious too. Dogs are welcome on the patio they'll even bring a bowl of water for your pup. Perfect place for a pretty Saturday lunch. They also serve beer and wine if you are so inclined.
Hidden off College Ave by 3 Taverns Brewery, Duck's is a cute and quaint cafe with a free parking lot free, easy parking's not always common in Decatur). Service was fast and friendly. Had the California pizza $10) chicken, avocado, garlic, tomato. It was fresh and very hot but nothing special. My friends had the James Calvin pot roast sandwich) and the Oban fancy BLT on a croissant). Both sandwiches looked and tasted delicious. The chocolate chip cookie $1.10) was really good!! I recommend staying away from the pizza and trying on the sandwiches and selection of desserts cookies, brownies, pie, including a few gluten free options). Book a table now
This restaurant is charming, unique, and pleasantly low-key. I visited on Saturday for a much-needed tranquil breakfast. I ordered the uptown breakfast sandwich along with a cup of coffee. The coffee was robust yet smooth, and the sandwich was fresh and tasty. We enjoyed our meal outside in the peaceful, shaded courtyard, feeling as if we had escaped the city and found a cozy little retreat. They also offer an impressive selection of homemade cookies, pastries, pies, and cinnamon rolls that all looked incredibly tempting! I definitely plan to return to grab some baked goods for the holiday season—and of course, for breakfast again!
I was waiting on an appt and decided to give this place a try. I am all for the non commercialized food spots. This spot is a little unorthodox as to you eat in one building while the food comes from another building. I ordered the grill cheese which came with a salad. The grill cheese was good. ..but the winner was this lil plain looking salad. THE RANCH DRESSING WAS AWESOME! I also got a Blood Orange Red Velvet Cupcake. .I was a little disappointed because it was hard due to being refrigerated (almost felt frozen) but the little I was able to pinch off had a very good flavor
I discovered this restaurant by chance while searching for lunch options, having grown weary of the same old places I usually frequented. I called in an order for a chicken salad sandwich and a cosmic side salad. It took me about fifteen minutes to walk from my Airbnb. The complex consists of two buildings; I think the first one was for employees. The second building, located further inside, is where I picked up my food. I took it back home to enjoy, and both the sandwich and salad were enjoyable—quite simple but good. Overall, it was a nice and affordable lunch!
Love this place hidden in Decatur! The patio makes you feel like you are at a cafe in Paris. The service is great and they are always very friendly. I love bringing my dog to sit with me on the patio. They have amazing fresh salads and I love to add a scoop of chicken salad. I recently got the lox and bagel and it was also amazing. Highly recommend this place especially on a nice day! Book a table now
Cute place with great outdoor seating and nice staff. Food was nothing special. In fact, sandwich bread was over toasted and salad was clearly not fresh brown edges. Only 2 salad dressing options and both were not good. Menu looks good but disappoints. $10 for an overdone sandwich : I won't be back with all the great options around in Decatur. Plus parking was so tight!
