After being here at opening launch, I came back with a friend who lived nearby for Sunday Roast. The chicken was succulent and tender. From my earlier visit, I knew the roasting process took place right in the open plan kitchen where customers could witness how the meat was slowly cooked when the moisture and flavours were all well preserved. The fat from roasting then dripped through the grill to the tray underneath where the potatoes were laid out. What a great idea! The potatoes were delightful as well, crispy outside and warm and soft in the middle. Apparently this pub is run by the same folks as Dove & Olive, I can see the resemblance in the interior decoration and so...

This pub was previously the "Duke of Glouchester" and had a great 2 for 1 specials night basically every night, cook your own steaks included and an amazing vegetables and salad bar you served yourself. It has undergone a renovation and turned into a hipster craft beer / American location that removed the 2 for 1's (until they realised no one came and now it's on offer once a week, just not so good).
Negatives aside, the new meals are DELICIOUS. I had the "fancy" steak atop cauliflower purée and fried artichokes. It was well cooked and very tasty. There's also burgers, salads and risotto. Pricier than before but yes tastier too.

This used to be one of the best local pubs in Sydney with a great atmosphere and an old schoolchar, now it feels like I was a very efforted, unsurpassed, sticky, bad imitation of an American pub. The food is mediocrack best, and the beer selection is well handed over, and often the staff can not give you a description of what you buy to give EAT aromas / comparisons. It's just really insorganized and I can not say that I'll be back soon.
Of course, because of the name of this venue, I thought I would call to find out if it was a dog friendliness. I was advised that it was indeed in the courtyard. A week later, I brought my dog brought and checked to confirm again personally, but it was grumpy advised that even the courtyard was not a hund-friendly. The craft beer looked amazingly at an offered offer, but I could not try her because she did not go back.
Went there last night, and the food was at best Mediokre. The place is roughly understaffed, so it needs an eternity to get a drink or order food. If the food is finally arriving, he did not justify the price,
After several cutlery stations tested and 3 employees were asked for a fork, we had to eat a variety of meals with knives and spoons!

Love this place. Great to come with a few friends and enjoy the prey of the amazing selection of craft beer (if they are in their tones and VBS, they are not afraid they are still there). The food is great, with a better menu than just the usual "pub-grub". Southern fried mushrooms, amazing!
Thoroughly recommend the food since the update of the restaurant. Our group of 6 had one of the banquets. There was a lot of variety in the dishes with a French inspired twist.
