This is truly a 3.5. I was visiting the area and wanted food from back home. I googled the best in the area and this location out did everyone else. The Pepper Steak was perfection however, the cabbage was definitely not how I grow up eating it nor how I cook it. The Oxtail was not impressive I think that had more to do with how busy they are and they seem to cook through out the day so quick cooking. Just my opinion on that and lack of flavor.... Just a suggestion, when someone orders delivery it would be courteous to call and ask if a replacement meal is wanted when you don 't have something available. To order 3 meals for 3 people and only receive 2 is disappointing, I was about to call and cuss until my daughter showed me the receipt with the word refund written next to that particular meal. Secondly the food is bland, I did not enjoy it but it was our first meal of the day after driving 8hrs I personally would 've sent the food back and ask for my $97 back if I was physically in the restaurant. This place is very good west Indian food option for the Hartford/Capital area. They have always been consistent with their flavors and quality of food, no matter which dish I've chose! I would def refer anyone to try this, if you're looking to try this genre of food.. a very upbeat and welcoming environment, with good timely service!! I've been going here for years and never have gotten a bad plate of food, never has the service been distasteful, nor has the option I chose to order not been ready and above many of the rest!!

While visiting Hartford, we were recommended to another restaurant but the GPS too us to Dunn's River Jamaican Restaurant and we absolutely love our meal. With our family size, the owner personally assisted us without revealing he was the owner. The kids, my mom, sister and I were all pleasantly surprised that each of our meals was next to perfection. I personally enjoyed their fried chicken and oxtail. The sides of plantains wasn't too thick and well fried.
They have the best food here fried dumping oxtail lost the pasta everything in this place. Customer service was excellent. Even though it was packed, the staff moved expeditiously. My reasoning for taking away 2 stars is the chicken. It was over fried to the point that it was dry and not edible. The pieces that were edible, had absolutely NO SEASONING.
Food is pretty good and for the price, definitely worth it. I ordered a coconut drop and they gave me gizzada, very disappointed there but the food overall was good this time around. I ordered delivery and it was delivered with acceptable timing

Best Ox-tails and Curry Goat in East Hartford.. Love it. Pleasant staff, busy environment (customers in and out) reasonable prices.
