In my opinion, Ernesto serves the best Mexican food in Howard County. The Fajitas are our usual choice in the restaurant. We tried all steak, chicken, shrimp, veggie and a combo. Everything's grilled. The food comes to your table wonderfully fresh and with a great aroma. The vegetables are boiled directly; not cooked or cooked. There is a special dish that we often ordered Brochetta Ahumada. It is flamed at the table side and is a tower of shrimp, chicken and beef. Our waiter was very nice, but the food was terrible. We ordered happyties, tacos, Queso and Mac and cheese (for the toddler) Everything was white, bland, and underboiled, and honestly just tasted as if it were from a can. The beans, as my husband said, tasted as if they had released them from a can and hardly heated them. The frogs were soggy, hardly warm and dry. I tried to dip them in sour cream, palc and cheese sauce and she could not yet counteract the dry. The Mac and the cheese were only combed Mac and cheese and looked like he was sitting in a pot all day. Margarita? For $50 for two adults and a toddler for dinner, very disappointed.
Overrated in my opinion .. not bad but really nothing special. With all the Mexican restaurants in this area I’m looking for the ones that stand out above the others. Ernesto’s didn’t. Ordered chicken enchiladas which should be a softball for the kitchen. Extremely skimpy on sauce and cheese! ? Menu says they come with sour cream but I had to ask for it, and then it came up on the bill as a side. To his credit my server took it off the check when I pointed this out. Best thing about my meal was the chips and salsa, which were really good.
Been here a few times, I've gotten the steak chimichanga with Ranchero sauce which was great, but decided to try something different this time. My very friendly server (didn't get his name, sorry) was really helpful and recommended the El Jimador (I think that's what it's called) burrito and it was amazing. Very good margaritas too.

This has been our visit to Mexico for years. We have the bad quality food during Covid, but our last meal September 2022 was also terrible. The dough on the Chili Rellenos was wrong. The beans were tasteless. The rice was okay. The salsa was very thin and they gave us very little. Go ahead.
my first visit was back in 2016 and I couldn't say enough great things about this place, it was so good. but over the years the quality has decreased and the service has deteriorated. it is not worth the hour drive we liked to take in past. I will not have been getting back
This restaurant is excellent. The staff was friendly, and the food was delicious. I tried the tortilla soup, brisket tacos, guacamole, and the tres leches. My kids loved the chipotle chicken, which they described as 'bangin!'
Amazing food! I had the avacado and brisket enchiladas- they were fabulous. The frozen margaritas are delicious. The frozen ice cream is divine. The staff is sweet, timely and efficient. We will be coming back!!

Best Mexican food I've had in my 10 years living in the Baltimore Washington area. I'd keep going back for the service alone, but the food is excellent!
Really good salsa and margs. Great happy hour spot. Some vegetarian options. Food is ok, some dishes better than others.
