My best friend and I went to this restaurant to celebrate our upcoming birthdays, but it was a very disappointing experience. The food was expensive and far below standard. I had to send back my main course after just two mouthfuls, and the replacement meal wasn't much better. The dessert was below average, with a chocolate sponge being passed off as sticky toffee pudding - the chef should be ashamed. The atmosphere was too noisy even with just a few people. Since new owners took over, the quality of the restaurant has really gone downhill. I won't be returning.
Travelled 18miles to this place,was my husband's birthday, been once before and had a nice meal but never again! Both had the so called ribeye steak,this in our opinion was a flat iron steak, nothing like a ribeye, the presentation on the plate looked like a child had prepared it pale looking chips a few mushrooms and a tomato also had the peppercorn sauce which was very watery and tasteless,we told a member of staff that we didn't enjoy it but he didn't seem to care, just wish we hadn't stayed, won't be going back and would advise anyone not to bother going.
My wife and I visited the Farmers Arms on Friday 01.12.23 for our date night. She ordered the ribeye steak and I had the gammon. The service was excellent, with friendly and welcoming staff. Our meals were of top quality and cooked to perfection - both the steak and gammon were incredibly tender. If you are searching for delicious, reasonably priced food, the Farmers Arms is the place to go. We are already planning on bringing our family there soon.
Lovely place, unfortunately the food really let it down, there were around 10 people eating in our party and the majority of us were disappointed with the food, a couple of us sent food back as it was dried up or cooked too long. Portions weren’t great for the price they charge, over £6 for a chocolate sundae which was basically 3 scoops of ice cream with a bit of chocolate sauce in a gin glass…won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend

This place refurbed last year, looks incredible! That's the only positive I'm afraid. VERY expensive (compared to Hop Vine, Ship, Slipway etc.... Service is slow. Beer is flat Wine tastes like vinegar.... any possible way to cut a cost with a meal is the agenda it seems. We SO wanted this place to be good, have tried it three times since the refurb, and I'm sorry but that's how it is....
This was a spur of the moment stop , and wow what a great idea Lovely weather , lovely location and great food we had fritto misto sharing plate amazing and good value . If I was not driving and we had more time we would of sat there all day We will be back . Thanks you guys .
A wonderful celebration of re opening with new chef. Food was delicious with generous portions. Arrived hungry left stuffed. Especially the calamari. Service was excellent especially liv. Really pleased with the quality of food which came out tonight.
Absolutely amazing food and wonderful staff, we called on the off chance we could get a table. We were met by a very polite young lady who showed us a table. The staff and owners are very attentive and polite will be re- visiting very soon.

Yes, it's on the canal. Yes, the refurb has been done really nicely. Yes, the service is often poor. Yes, the food quality and quantity is a lottery. Yes, I will walk a bit further and go somewhere better. There's plenty of options.
Terrible food, disrespectful staff. The food lacked flavor and was not worth the price. The meal was expensive and I do not plan on returning.
