I had difficulty with the menu at this restaurant because I am following a low-carb diet and most dishes came with chips or potatoes. When I asked if I could substitute haloumi fries for chips, I was told that I would have to pay extra for them. The chips on the menu were priced at £2.95, while the haloumi was £3.95. Instead of being charged the difference, I was charged for both. The waitress initially said I could have the haloumi, then returned to say I couldn't, but asked if I wanted a salad instead. The meat in the pie was tough with pieces that were not eatable. My Sea Bass meal was cool to being too cool to eat. We shared this with the waiter on collecting the plates, did not see the waiter earlier, she said she would tell the Chef, when paying we were told she had not been able to speak to the Chef, that was disappointing, I should have sent my meal back.
We have visited this restaurant before because we love the atmosphere. This time, we came specifically for the Christmas menu. The food was delicious, although the pigs in blankets were a bit dry and we weren't sure about having a Yorkshire pudding with a turkey dinner. Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal and we would definitely come back. Thank you.
