Visiting friends nearby and decided to have fish and chips as we were running late. Unfortunately we didn 't get chance to try the food as after standing in queue outside for a while I finally made it into the shop and was about to order when I noticed the very small handwritten sign stating cash only . Why should I leave the shop, go get cash and re queue to give you my business? It 's 2021, cash is not often carried by many people and even less so with COVID being around. PUT THE SIGN IN THE WINDOW!
I tried this restaurant for the first time last weekend. The chips were delicious, but I was disappointed with the burger. The bun was dry, there was no cheese, and the burger itself was thin and lacking in flavor. I understand it's a fish and chip shop, but if you're going to offer burgers, they should be tasty.
Really great Chippy, placed a very large order for collection, not one thing missed and the fish chips were delicious, we had to travel 7 miles back to the campsite and they were still piping hot, brilliant, we will definitely be placing an order on our next trip
I called in for my tea last night, i am a busy care worker in the area hadnt time to go home to eat, i found this place clean welcoming, pleasant staff plenty of food which was very good. Thank you, i will definitely call again.

Ordered 3 cod and chips and a cheeseburger. The fish was quite nice but the burger was not very nice the bun was dry and there was no cheese in the burger. The chips had bits of grit in them!
The fish and chips at this restaurant are excellent and the best I've had in a while. The batter is crispy and the chips are hand-cut. I would highly recommend this dish.
On holiday, fish and chips so good been here twice, I do not know what they do with the batter but really tasty. Cash only but cash machine couple of doors down.

Very disappointed, you advertise your open until 8pm on Fridays, yet at 7 15pm you were closed !
I love this Chippy in the centre of Leyburn. Good food, sensible prices and friendly staff.
