Food and staff were excellent. It did have the “sticky tavern” feel with many surfaces being what I would consider “dirty”. You know the kind where you put your drink down and the cup sticks to the bar? That kind, but the floor and the table also. 9/10 would go back but for the price and hype you would think it would be freshly cleaned.
Food was good, wait staff: kind. Unfortunately, the tables were sticky and both bench seats were dirty with brushed off food. Then, after I did sit down, I also found a leftover sandwich stick. The room is old and very drafty. A bit of freshening up and attention to cleaning and it could be a charming place,
Strong odor of urine in restaurant and lobby. Table was dirty and sticky. Beer taps out of order. Husband had wings that were tasty. Ordered burger medium rare, came out very rare. I ate around the edges of the burger. Waitress was nice.parking lot is one big pot hole. We won’t be back.
The food was excellent, and the ambiance was filled with history and elegance, while also being cozy. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and can't wait to come back soon. The beer was also quite delicious. Book a table now
The food is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxed yet pleasant. It offers the same dishes as other popular restaurants without all the hype. The prime rib was the most delicious I've ever had.
During our stay at The Madison Hotel, we found GK's and Rod's Steakhouse to be convenient dining options. Both restaurants are worth visiting even if you are not a guest at the hotel.
Prices have pushed above reasonable. $20 for a burger and fries is above inflation in NJ. And it’s not a 5burger, perhaps I’d it was Kobe.
