There 's some pricey restaurants in Crail, so I was pleased to find decent value at the Golf Hotel. For a 3-course dinner and latte coffee I paid about £32, drinks extra of course. They take table reservations by email which is handy. The food, part chosen from the 'specials ' board and from the menu was fine although I played it pretty safe with soup of the day, steak pie and a warm brownie. It 's a personal preference but I 'd have preferred the option of chucky chips rather than thin American style fries. I wasn 't kept unduly waiting for food on a Friday night and the service from the waitresses was pleasant although a request for sauce was forgotten about. There 's a decent range of dri...

Lovely afternoon in Crail, although it was looking rather forlorn. Lots of homes closed up, many looking very tatty. Clearly too many air BNB and holiday homes. The Golf Hotel was very disappointing. We decided to sit in the beer garden, but wanted to see what beers were available. The barmaid was rude. Said 'What do you want? ' in a tone that suggested she was busy and wanted to serve us as quickly as possible. One older gent sitting in the bar, not another soul in the place. We bought our beers and carried them out to the beer garden. It was moderately busy. We noticed that there was a lot of food left on the plates of the folks around us 2 plates on a table of 3 were virtually untouched.....
A family of four visited a restaurant and tried one of the daily specials, salt and chilli squid. Unfortunately, the dish did not live up to its name as it lacked both salt and chilli. The portion size was small, with only 6 or 7 pieces of squid and a salad with no dressing, priced at £15. The husband ordered a chicken goujon wrap but was disappointed to receive chicken goujouns with chips and the same bland salad from the squid dish, for an extra £4. The children's meals were satisfactory. The service was poor, with one waitress being rude when asked to take drink orders, redirecting the customers to the wrong bar. Overall, the experience was disappointing.
Been a place to visit for the last few years when we have been in Crail. Lovely beer garden that gets the mid afternoon sun. Bar lunches always tasty and reasonably priced. The bar area itself is fairly small but all staff are attentive. Dog friendly for those that feel the need to take a dog everywhere. A tip don’t sit at the table just inside the bar door in Winter or you will freeze from the draught when the door opens. Book a table now
The beer garden is a decent spot for a drink, but it's best to steer clear of the food. The outdoor menu is limited and served on disposable plates, even though drinks are served in glassware. The burgers, wraps, and halloumi are of poor quality, with frozen chips being a disappointing side.
After a long walk in crail we fell across this lovely pub, amazing food and the staff are just so lovely. Very reasonable in price and a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommend you stop by here when your in crail , it won’t disappoint
Visited on Saturday lunchtime for food and drinks and was not disappointed. Delicious food, generous portions and served by friendly and polite staff. Stayed for a couple of drinks in the bar, so cosy and atmospheric really enjoyed our visit!
Had Breakfast here as non residents. Made welcome by Staff. We both had cooked breakfasts and they arrived freshly cooked and hot. First Class. Will visit again for breakfast on our next Crail short break. Book a table now
The restaurant offers delicious food that is simple yet excellent, making it a must-visit. Although there is outdoor seating and steps, the place is clean and the staff is wonderful.
