"This is in a great location by the weir and it’s fun to sit on the bar stools and watch the canoeists and swimmers in the L’Aveyron River. This could be a great place but it is a bit too laid back for my taste. Friendly service, average range of meals but it’s all a bit down at heel. Meze style starters are tasty. A good spruce up would make it very special. I recommend mosquito spray if you visit in the evening. Helpful?"

After visiting the nearby town we thought this would be a good place to have a cup of coffee and a break. After waiting 15 minutes to be served we eventually managed to order a coffee and a hot chocolate. The coffee was terrible, weak and the flavour of boiled hot water. The chocolate was a cheap Nesquick type drink and very weak. For 3€ I would have expected something a little better The tables were covered in sticky substance and a thick liquid. The whole place was ramshackle and a unpleasant mess. Service, environment and drinks terrible.

We have eaten at the Guinguette many, many times and have sent friends and family to eat there too Today, however, we were told never to come back because we complained about a maggot in the salad and the uncooked meat. The patron, who could easily give Basil Faulty a run for his money, said that he couldn’t see the problem with the maggot, insisting that it was “only a little one”! He even wanted to show me where the maggot came from. Incredible!! Nasty, never going back.

This is a cute and quirky restaurant by a river. Nice fresh food and the service is friendly and typical for this part of France (all is done in a very relaxed time frame). This is something I don't mind when I'm on vacation, but I can see other people might get annoyed by. The location is calm with lots of green and right next to the water. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are not in a hurry and want to stop and enjoy some drinks or lunch in a great setting.

We had a couple of plates of mezze style middle eastern food, all of it poor quality from jars and tins and at an insane price. Our son's meal was completely forgotten about. When I complained, the owner told me he doesn't care what I think about his food as he serves 150 people per day. The forgotten dish was my fault too apparently. Such a shame as it's a beautiful place OK for a drink maybe but definitely look elsewhere for food.
