Where do I even begin? Walking into Hancock was a very welcoming experience. I love that as soon as you enter you're faced with a sign that tells you whether to wait to be seated or to seat yourself. I hate going places and being confused and stared at awkwardly not knowing what to do! Throughout my time there, everyone was so quick to the door to make sure guests were greeted and seated super fast. So great! After we were seated we checked out the menu and the waiter was SO great at explaining different options and spice levels on the menu. He really made our experience! The jalapeño cornbread was hands down the best cornbread I've ever had. We each got a fried chicken sandwich which FAR fr...

Hancock on Wealthy St in Grand Rapids: Tasty Food with Disorganized Service and Small PortionsI recently dined at Hancock on Wealthz St in Grand Rapids and unfortunately, it was a pretty mediocre experience. While the Nashville Chicken Cuisine was tasty, the portions were very small (5 Chickentenders!?! and not very filling. One major issue was the very disorganized service. The dishes came out very late and our cornbread didn't arrive until after we had already eaten our chicken sandwiches. We had to ask for it even though it was on the bill but not on the table.Overall, while the food at Hancock is decent, the disorganized service left much to be desired. With some improvements in organizat...
Really good chicken. I got the tenders and a slushy flight. The chicken tenders come as 5 pieces with a side. I got 3 of those tenders at the hottest spice level and 2 at sweet with a side of coleslaw. The hottest seemed like a combo of chili oil and dry rub (they warn that it also contains pork products), and the sweet was honey butter. Both flavors of chicken tenders were fantastic. The side of coleslaw worked as a great way to balance the heat.I chose John Daly, you've my boy blue, cold fashioned, and Gin and Julius for the four slushies in my flight. I liked these most in the following order: John Daly, cold fashioned, you've my boy blue, and Gin and Julius.Overall I really enjoyed the fo...
The jalapeno cheddar cornbread is the standout item on the menu. I'm not particularly fond of pimento cheese, so their burgers and mac and cheese aren't really my thing. The chicken sandwiches are tasty, but they can be a bit messy since they usually feature several tenders squeezed between the buns, rather than a single thigh like most other fried chicken places. Their fries are among the best in the city and are perfectly seasoned. It's a fantastic spot for placing large takeout orders when you're gathering with friends. Book a table now
We loved everything we ordered from this restaurant. The flavors were bold without too much heat, with my personal favorites being the Fried Chicken Wrap and the Smash Burger (basically a Big Mac with quality ingredients). If you at all like pickles, these are a must-try. I look forward to eating from here again!
Love this place! On of my go to’s in the neighborhood. This time I had a few of their fantastic (alcohol) slushies and hot chicken tenders with homemade bread butter pickles. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu the vegan satay sandwich is also wonderful.
I sat outside and had a great time with the fun games available in the outdoor area. They offered a nice selection of drinks and plenty of vegetarian choices. I particularly enjoyed the frozen samplers. The atmosphere was lively, and the food was delicious.
Reeked of gentrification. The chicken wasn't crispy, or even fully breaded at that. Small tenders. The mac and cheese wasn't fresh and was mediocre at best. Definitely not worth the price. The only positive was it was super quick and the service was decent. Book a table now
One of the best hidden gems in East grand rapids! My favorite thing are the chicken tenders and most certainly the blushies!!! Love the patio and all the yard games!
Way too expensive. The chicken was quite good, but the price really took me by surprise. The side portions were also small.
