I went to this restaurant for lunch and was extremely disappointed. The place was very small and cramped, with tables placed closely together. I ordered meat spring rolls for a starter but there was not much meat in them, mostly just bean sprouts. For my main meal, I chose sweet and sour chicken and chicken curry. The sweet and sour chicken had very few pieces of chicken and was mostly peppers and onions, while the chicken curry had a watery sauce with a few pieces of chicken, mainly onions. The rice was the only thing that was enjoyable. I was excited to finally dine in at the restaurant after regularly ordering takeout from there. However, my experience was just okay. I wasn't necessarily disappointed, but I did feel a bit let down. The prices were quite high and didn't match up with the portion sizes and quality of the food. The serving of rice was small and unsatisfying. I had hoped for a more special dining experience. On the bright side, the wine selection was good. I don't think I'll be visiting the restaurant again, but I'll stick to ordering takeout since the food is much better that way.
Has so went down hill recently!! Ordered peking spare ribs was lucky if there was meat on 2 of the tiny pieces of broken up ribs I was given. The main meals were ok, albeit half the portion of any other Chinese restaurant, my satay had about 4 pieces of chopped chicken my bf curry was the same. He then ordered a portion of salt chilli chicken balls on their own was charged £13.50 for them!!!! He was then charged 50p for a bag to take them home with him. Will not be back, the prices are ridiculous for the food that is served !!!
I entered the restaurant to ask for a takeaway as it states on their website they do ‘takeaways’ however I was greeted by a very unhappy gentleman who clearly did not want to be there who stated ‘We don’t do takeaways, try down the road!’. I appreciate if the restaurant do not offer walk in takeaways, however the staff could inform customers that they can simply order online to collect rather than turn people away!. Clearly, some of your staff need some customer service training.

Ordered from here and the girl never heard my order right. I then received the wrong order. When I phoned back and I explained her answer was naw ye definitely didny said she couldn 't do anything about it as she had read it back but the manner she spoke to me on the phone was terrible customer service. I have been using I Chai Express for home delivery for years, but I will not be doing so again. I placed an order for $102 (with a 10% discount for ordering online) with a delivery time of a 15-minute window. After three phone calls following this window, the food eventually arrived 1 hour late.
my daughter has booked table for 4 of us here on a Sunday night for the tapas. place was full and after eating the food I can understand why....it was delicious and fresh and the service was fast and friendly. will definitely come back! if you want to try, I would guess the booking.
This is the best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to,the food is delicious and the vegetables spring rolls are amazing. The staff are very helpful and pleasant,and the kitchen staff work very hard to serve their delicious food, I would never go anywhere else.
