Hands-down the best Italian food in the area. We turn to Irpinia every year for our Holiday gatherings and our guests always rave about the food. The quality of the food easily surpasses the food available at so-called fine dining establishments across Northern NJ. My wife and I come from traditional Italian-American families and we both agree the food from Irpinia is as good or better than the dishes we revered from childhood through present day. The staff is always friendly and courteous and, contrary to some of the other posts we’ve read, we find the owners to be incredibly kind and totally oriented to delight their customers.
The Italian food here is fantastic and genuinely authentic, with specialty items priced reasonably. I picked up some beloved classics as gifts, as well as some new dishes to try. They also offer great value gift packages. The wife is fluent in English, Italian, and Spanish, while the husband speaks both English and Italian fluently. He hails from Italy and is the head chef. I absolutely love their eggplant parmesan, and his cauliflower reminds me exactly of my mother-in-law's recipe. I've sampled various hot specials here and have consistently enjoyed each one.
This is a hidden gem in Roxbury. I stopped by for a quick mozzarella sandwich, and it was outstanding. The staff was very friendly, and the young man at the deli worked quickly and efficiently while preparing sandwiches during the lunch rush. I also noticed their daily dinner specials, available for just $30 for a family of four. The food is delicious, and the value is excellent. I can't wait to return and try some other entrees and desserts. Great job!
Irpinia Deli is an excellent choice for catering a party or simply picking up a sandwich. The atmosphere has a genuine Italian charm, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The food is fresh and absolutely delicious. The only drawback is that it can be a bit on the expensive side for frequent visits. However, you definitely won't be disappointed when you do decide to go.

Any event I need to catered, I always use Irpinia. I had them cater my daughters 1st Communion yesterday and once again, the food was amazing!! Make sure to get the tray of Filet Mignon. Mouth watering deliciousness!! And I really can't say enough kind words about the owners. And their regular menu is just as good. Great quality food and reasonably priced!!
