We had a fabulous meal. We booked in main because of the google reviews which were spot on. The menu choices are small which is perfect for me as too much choice makes it so difficult to actually choose. There were four of us and two small dogs! We had all three courses and all the food was beyond excellent. The star of the menu was the fillet steak which was the best my father in law had ever had and he’s in his seventies! The lovely front of house staff are so welcoming. We will be returning. An outstanding little gem just outside Padstow. The food was extremely tasty and presented beautifully. My duck was out of this world. The family who run this restaurant make you feel welcome and really look after you from start to finish and nothing is true much trouble. Definitely going back next time we are back in St Merryn. This was my third visit to the restaurant. They were open last night before closing for the winter. Once again, we received a lovely warm welcome. For starters, we had the crab tart and salmon tempura. For mains, we enjoyed the dover sole, fish cakes, and sea bass. For dessert, we had ice cream and a couple of Irish coffees. All the dishes were beautifully cooked and presented. We paired our meal with a nice bottle of pinot noir. It was a lovely evening and we definitely plan on coming back.
Lovely kind family, run restaurant. Varied menu and food delicious and well presented. Intimate and pleasant ambience. Definitely will revisit if we can. What an amazing restaurant! We were fortunate to dine here this evening before The Ivy House closes for the winter. The hospitality was excellent and the food was delicious. This place never fails to impress.
