Just wish them to update their menu / hours etc. online. Also, it would wish to be a set menu lunch specially for each day, which coordinates with the menu sheet that they output. It is frustrating to have to call every day to find out what is really on the menu for the day and be ready for a particular dish then dissapointed that they do not have it on that day. Until dinner it is really delicious!! Large house style cooking!!! It's nice that this house has found cooked meals! If you didn't try it, you don't know what you missed! Very delicious food and excellent customer service. I work in Minden for two weeks and wanted Soul Food to be cooked at home. We tried three places, and Jeans Diner is the best! We eat every day at jeans and I recommend it very!!! The food tastes like making my grandma! Mrs. Jean is the sweetest lady and she makes sure you are a happy customer. The best chicks and dumplings, Turnip Greens, Fried and Smothered Pork Chops, Fried Chicken, Candied Yams, Catfish Filets, Potato Salad, Kohl, Field Peas, Peach Cobbler, etc. and the Sweet Tea is perfect! Small FAMILY business. My husband and I stopped eating a bite while we went home from FL to TX. Ms. Jean and her family welcomed, greeted and thanked us for stopping in... we chatting, huged, cried about loved ones we had recently lost. Lunch arrived... Chicken fried steak for me and cats for my husband Your first bite tells you that this was done with love and care. Each bite was delicious directly to the hot water corn cake and slices of pound cake. When time and again in the area, we will definitely make a stop in Minden for a delicious meal and a hug. Great people and true southern hospitality.
This place (Jean's Diner) serves phenomenal tasting down home soul food. The family ran and owned business also adds to your experience here. I highly recommend it to all who loves good eating. It's located in Minden, LA and I'll be back someday soon. Mmmmm good!
