What an amazing stop along Hwy. 59. Great food; but it was just a joy to see such jovial and seemingly happy employees. Even had the owner come out to greet me and introduce himself. What a class man; very easy going and a true treat to meet. I'm certain it's a loving work environment, a treat to witness. I had brisket, sausage and a pork rib and everything was tasty and very tender. Hats Off Crew; easy to tell God has you...... Looking forward to stopping by again. Loved the turkey jerky and the pork loin is superb. God Bless God 1st..... oh I'm kicking myself for not getting some jerky dip; looked tasty?

Great place not just for their meat but also for their bakery items. I've been eating kolaches my whole life, and it's hard to find them anywhere else, but you can definitely get them here. It reminds me of my sweet mom, who always made the best ones. I'm really glad I can still enjoy them here. Thank you!
JR’s chicken salad is always my treat whenever I have shots in my eyes once a month. Doesn’t help my eyesight but Damn sure improves my disposition!! And the buttermilk pie is just like my grandma’s. I highly recommend taking the time to visit with them. You’ll love the food and company.

IMHO- In all the places in an around Wharton/El Campo that are known for their BBQ, there is no better sliced brisket sandwich to be had than the one at Junior's Smokehouse on Hwy 59 at Mackay!!! PS: take a quart of chicken salad home with you and impress the ladies in your life!
The service here is exceptional, and the food is fantastic. I have my deer and hogs processed at this location, and they produce high-quality, incredibly delicious products.
The sliced beef brisket sandwich is about as good as it gets. Great sausage jerky too.
