Sometimes, at Wonderful, the ingredients are cut into such large pieces that it feels like the chef might not be familiar with how to prepare Chinese food properly. This restaurant also offers some interesting flavors, utilizing various types of chili peppers that add a nice kick. They incorporate unique ingredients like lotus root and pickled long beans, which are quite rare in most Chinese restaurants around here.

Every dish I tried surpassed my expectations. The stir-fried minced pork with dried cucumber peels was wonderfully spicy and full of flavor. The tofu was cooked flawlessly and served hot. The biggest portion was the stir-fried boned chicken with pepper and garlic. We also ordered rice and noodles as side dishes. My favorite dish of the day was the eggplant with minced pork, garlic, and cilantro. The squid with tentacles was the spiciest dish, but it was incredibly tasty. This place is a definite must-visit!
I called Juàn Xiāng Easterly Millbrae to place an order and asked for some recommendations. Unfortunately, the woman I spoke with was very impatient and rude. She told me to check the menu online and call back, but even with the menu in front of me, I wouldn’t know which option to choose without guidance. I wouldn’t recommend visiting this restaurant due to the poor service.
The food was flavorful, though a little oily. I would have given a higher rating if my noodle dish had included more vegetables, as it only had a small amount of cabbage and green onion. I combined it with another dish that had peppers to enhance the taste. With some fresh, crunchy vegetables, it would have easily earned five stars.

This is a great place to experience authentic Chinese Xiang cuisine. Since there were only two of us, we didn’t order many dishes. The stir-fried green beans were a delightful choice for some greens, and you can't go wrong pairing those dishes with plain white rice!
At Juàn Xiāng Easterly Millbrae, the pig feet were rather unappealing, and the rest of the menu items were only mediocre. Additionally, I felt the prices were too high for the quality and variety provided.
The food was quite good. We were a group of 10 and we really appreciated the solo waitress working hard to manage the entire restaurant. She did an impressive job!
Furthermore, the waitress here is incredibly friendly and efficient, despite managing all the tables on her own most of the time.
