My wife and I went here on the recommendation of locals. Great examples of local food, the beer is great and my wife loved the riesling. It's a true Hessisch experience with the added bonus that the old wood panelled interior has been decorated with all sorts of old lab equipment. Good to see a Liebig condensor or two hanging from the ceiling.
I have been there a couple of times with some friends. The food is typical German, with some speciality also specific for Hessen. The food is quite abundant and prices are fair.
Lovely restaurant with very friendly staff, great selection of food and beers, as well as local spirits. Nice decoration drawing on Giessen's illustrious history in chemistry.
What a very friendly establishment, made us welcome on a Saturday night even though the were very busy, fabulous service, great food and drink, plus a superb atmosphere.
