Kavarna holds a special place in my heart because it 's one of just two coffee shops in Decatur (R.I.P. Java Monkey the Downtown Starbucks), but I think it 's safe to say it 's been resting on its laurels for awhile now.The two staff I interacted with are nice enough, but would certainly not be considered baristas. They were pretty curt, forgot to put a lid on my black coffee, and made my brother 's latte far too foamy. Kavarna 's interior is also in desperate need of a makeover. The pastel cafeteria-esq seats don 't mesh with the exposed brick walls, there are metal restaurant carts strewn throughout the floor for no good reason, and the place has a pretty dirty vibe to it. This place breaks my heart. It used to be a fantastic neighborhood coffee shop and now it’s terrible. I’ve been going since it was Joe and my daughters practically grew up there. Now it’s mediocre coffee at best and an atmosphere that’s unwelcoming. I guess they used to be comfortable because they were the only game in town. Thankfully we have much better options now. I wish the owner would either turn this place around or sell it to someone who wants to make it great again.
If you want wi-fi stay away from Kavarna. They don 't really care if you can access wifi or not. Only 12 people in the place and they claimed it must be because it 's busy . Find a more reputable establishment if you need internet.
Adorable Cafe! I had a latte and croissant, both were delicious. Service was quick, and both the person who took my order and the person who made my drink were friendly. It wasn't crowded and the prices were good.Food: 5/5

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance while in the area for a wedding. The service was quick and friendly, and the drinks were fantastic. I will definitely return the next time I am in town visiting family.

Delicious Dirty Chai Latte. A lot of seating so you can be productive, read, or catch up with friends. Will be my new work spot.
I used to love this coffee shop in the Decatur area, but I'm disappointed in how the management is treating the staff.
