We came here for breakfast the other day, after looking for a suitable highly rated place on Trip Advisor. It was a nice place. The food was really nice, but the highlight was the service. The lady who served us was just really good at her job. Not only when she spoke to us, but you could hear how she dealt with other customers too, and she was just very professional, polite and natural. I was super impressed. It's not often that you come across someone who provides that level of service, and it made me smile. She was great! And then a different lady took our payment as we left, and she was also lovely. So the service was the star. I feel like I should score higher than a 4, but there's some...

There are so many fantastic, warm and welcoming cafes in Whitley Bay Kith and Kin is not one of them. I've tried it several times over the last 18 months for both coffee and food, and every time have been disappointed by their style of service portentous, boarding on hostile. It must be a brand choice because most (if not all) of the staff will stare at you coldly or completely ignore your existence, and respond to your order as if you are putting them out. I want to really like the place because of its great coffee and convenient location, but their consistent lack of any kind of customer service means I'll spend my money elsewhere Meet Me On The Corner and Rustic Cup are delightful alterna...

We called here for our breakfast on Tuesday morning. Strange start as immediately told no bagels and no ciabatta, which covers pretty much all of the menu, and they don't do ordinary bread. I had French bread(made with sour dough) with bacon. It was absolutely delicious, however, one slice of French bread, 3 rashers of bacon and a few blueberries was £12...seemed excessive. The hallumi burger was only £6.50. The Earl Grey had no flavour. The coffee was great. So it really was a hit and miss visit.

Another wonderful experience dining at Kith and Kin. It's easily becoming my favourite cafe in the whole of the North East! It can get very busy so you often have to wait for a table, but it's so worth it, and there's usually seats free outside if you don't mind the weather. The staff are always exceptionally lovely and helpful, and make it that extra bit special. I ordered the Reuben sandwich and it was to die for, but I've never had a bad dish there. Will be back for sure. Book a table now

Food was great service was hostile. We went in with our friend in crutches. I asked if there was any tables round the back after waiting for her to finish serving the customer before me. She then asked another girl who said 10 and 11 were free. She continued to make my friend stand in his crutches as I walked round to the tables. This is the opposite of welcoming. Might be busy but we won't be back. I'm sure we're not the only ones she treats like this.

Shakshuka on a coffee shop menu? That was pleasantly intriguing! And the dish!!! Oh, imagina a rainbow of tastes, fireworks of sensations in one’s mouth! Fair enough, it’s subjective! But, hats off to the chef and the amazing team of this little gem in Whitley Bay.

This is my second time visiting and I hoped it would live up to my expectations. It did! The French toast with bacon was every bit as good as I remember it. The bacon is to die for! Staff were very friendly. Warning this place does get very very busy.

Very popular on a Saturday afternoon. Hot chocolate was extremely tasty especially with the added marshmallows and whipped cream. Sausage sandwich was a classic and hit the spot. Nice place to stop. Book a table now
