reservation on 18 for 19. on arrival no reserved table following mistake of the restaurant that has programmed for the 20! without any ampness a manager is looking to check the problem instead of placing us at the table, doubting our remarks, the whole staff with a rather unpleasant attitude towards us. Then, checks made, are finally placed in disaster at 5 on 2 small tables of 2 and without shelters while the weather threatens (at the end of meals a few drops of rain came to greet us)! The table is only half up and you have to claim what is missing! no excuse from the boss as he should be commercially (his resto was full and I think our humble presence was only disturbing, unlike a tiny gro...
It looks like a good restaurant, nice decor on the edge of the tank, many servers, map provided and yet it's not! service a little drunk, tasteless asssiettes, sometimes too fat, mediocre products: fades snails, a salad of citrus and defrosted shrimp, the nervous liver, the cooked lotte in the microwave etc., the child meal on the other hand is of good value for money. But it won't be enough for us to come back! the addition goes far beyond the real price of the products and wine at the pichet, that is more than 30 € per person for a simple menu.
Nous n avions pas réservé, donc plus de place disponible en terrasse. Serveurs au top. Pas de temps morts, très bonne écoute. Nous avons pris les menus à 29 euros entrée plat dessert vin et café : excellent rapport qualité prix. Les plats sont savoureux et les proportions parfaites. Qualité des produits excellente. Lors de notre prochain séjour à Cognac nous reserverons avec grand plaisir. Merci pour cet agréable moment et pour la qualité de service de l équipe.
two of us had duck in the orange and two had lamb in the ratatouille; food was good but not fantastic. the restaurant's location is beautiful and the room is pleasant, but the service made it very uncomfortable to be there. servers were very smiling and too effective. As soon as you put your empty bottle on the table, a server passes its hand over the table and grabs it. We feel that we need to hurry so that the servers can move forward in the program.

Nous avons été forts déçus lors de notre dernière visite au restaurant La Courtine. A l'apéritif, un Berger-menthe servi sans... menthe. Pas d'amuse-bouche pour grignoter. Nous avons pris des menus à 39€. Le tartare de thon et saumon était coupé en gros dès et sans saveur. La lotte était moyenne... Quant aux cafés gourmands, j'ai connu mieux... ailleurs.Ce restaurant tient de moins en moins la route par rapport à sa renommée et ce qu'il fut... Dommage
We had a family meal and arrived early. After being told by a surly waiter to sit outside we finally found a table we could sit at (after trying 2 and being told to move). Duck in Orange was great and the kids food was lovely. Food was tasty and quick but bad start. A smile and better service or communication would improve this restaurant. Let's be a bit more happy that customers turn up without a reservation!
tja the service - is as with us in frankfurt - just not smile - that belongs to the service ;-) - at the beginning you have the feeling only the locals are excellently served - but you get what to eat - that tastes very good - traditional - the wine fitting - the ambiente is very nice
The restaurant excentrated from the cognac center but the setting is magnificent, on the edge of the tank, a quiet place for a meal between friends or couples. on the plate, a treat: fresh and local products, a menu for all tastes!
