We went to celebrate a friend's birthday at one of their favorite restaurants. The food we tried was decent—not bad, but I wouldn't recommend it. As for vegetarian options, I can't suggest this place, especially for strict vegans. They typically offer only some sautéed onions and zucchini, and that’s about it. Unfortunately, cross-contamination is likely since everything is cooked with butter, and there are usually eggs and shrimp around. It's acceptable if you’re just going with friends for a birthday celebration, but there are definitely better alternatives out there. This restaurant used to be great, but now it seems to be in decline. There's a noticeable lack of care from the owner, and it feels poorly managed. The food is subpar, the service is dreadful, and the manager is rude, always prioritizing himself over the customers. The place itself is outdated and not clean. I once witnessed a 28-year-old punk manager deny a customer service simply because he was alone and wanted to sit for Hibachi, despite the fact that there were only five other customers at the time – the restaurant was nearly empty! It's frustrating! I recommend saving your money and dining somewhere else.
I visited Lampu in June, and shortly after receiving my food, I spotted a cockroach right next to my plate. When I informed our waiter, they brought the manager over, who casually killed the cockroach as if it was a regular occurrence. We decided not to touch our food, and when we declined a to-go box, they still charged us for the meal and only offered a $4 discount on our bill. To make matters worse, we were seated right next to the sushi bar, which is concerning to think about given the presence of roaches in that area.
I was quite disappointed with the food. What was advertised as a large meal turned out to include just three scallops and three small pieces of chicken. Additionally, the waitress added an extra tip to my credit card without my consent. I won't be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The food and service were excellent, although it took a bit longer for our table of three to get all our dishes. The waiter was entertaining, which helped ease the wait. My only significant issue was the aroma from the hibachi grills; it didn’t smell like food but rather like burnt oil.
The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, and there was a lot of fun to be had! That said, I think Kevin could benefit from taking a break to catch up on some Disney movies and refresh his trivia knowledge.
This is the best Japanese food I’ve ever had! Unlike many other places where the fried rice and other dishes are overwhelmed by oil, here you can truly enjoy the flavors. Everything is just outstanding!
The hibachi dinner offers excellent value and is truly an experience worth having, especially for the entertaining show it provides.
