A most friendly welcome from the lady in charge led to a comfortable table just outside the café. There is such a full menu, choice of dinner was difficult decision, but we enjoyed such tasty food and it was beautifully presented on very hot plates. We enjoyed: foie gras and confit de canard such local delicacies, while my partner enjoyed salad niçoise and full a plate of seafood with rice all so nice. It was good value for such wonderful food and relaxed service. We chose un demi carafe of rosé. We had a very good evening, noticing many locals ate here too. So this place is well recommended to you. Bon choix!

Small restaurant with 6 tables, cozy. We were visiting Sarlat for only 2 days and had dinner here one night, just walked in off the street. The food was absolutely delicious, I had the rouget filet (fish) and honestly, it's the best I've ever had. My husband enjoyed his meal as well. We had a starter and dessert, all of it was wonderful. Our limited French got us through, the server/owner was very nice. I would recommend it to anyone.

We happened upon l'Ardoise today whilst searching for a menu, which offered something other than duck and goose. L'ardoise was the answer. Lovely ravioli of prawn with crab sauce, veal with delicious onion as a riceless risotto and good moist walnut cake. The waitress was friendly and introduced me to an artisanal Perigourdian blonde beer from Sarlar called 24. The whole expérience was enjoyable, and the price was kind too.

Fresh fait maison seafood and more Great food. Fresh and delicious seafood, traditionally home made foie gras (that’didn’t come out of the jar or can).
