Latin Soul is a true gem located in the Lakeside Casino. The food stands out well above your typical Mexican restaurant. I began with a prickly pear cactus margarita, which had a beautiful violet hue and was delicious. We enjoyed the succulent chicken special paired with perfectly fried, sweet, and moist plantains. The menu featured several vegetable dishes that all sounded tempting. Our other dish was a sampler plate featuring excellent carne asada, a corn and cheese enchilada, and creamy, light refried beans. Portions were generous, prices fair, and the service was friendly and efficient. I’m already looking forward to coming back to try more dishes!
A gem of a restaurant at Lakeside Casino! The food was a notch above your typical Mexican restaurant. I began with a prickly pear cactus margarita, which was a stunning purple hue and absolutely delicious. We tried the juicy chicken special, accompanied by perfectly fried sweet, moist plantains. The menu also featured several enticing vegetable dishes. Our other selection was a sampler platter that included delicious Carne Asada, a corn and cheese enchilada, and outstanding creamy, lightly fried beans. My husband described his meal as one of the best he's ever had, and I completely agree—I've never tasted a better Chili Verde. Everything looked and tasted incredible. Unfortunately, we ended up leaving half of our plates behind because the portions were so large.
Latin Soul is a decent spot, but nothing extraordinary. The food was slightly greasy, though flavorful. It’s located inside a casino where indoor smoking is permitted, so if you’re sensitive to smoke or don’t smoke, I wouldn’t recommend it.
My husband declared his meal one of the best ever. I agree that I have never had a better Chili Verde. Everything looked and tasted amazing. Sadly, we left half a plate each since the dinner was huge.
