I like large-ish meals, my wife is thin. I like peasant food, my wife likes more high-class. We got both at Le Caveau and loved all of it. The choucroute is great and plentiful, and the meats were a wonderful complement. My wife's confit de canard was scrumptious. Perfect wine accompaniments to both meals, and we ended with a very good coffee and dessert. Corinne is pleasant, efficient and graceful; Philippe cooks his little heart out with a smile on his face. They both almost seemed embarrassed by our compliments. All in all a superb place for an evening meal. We drove from Friedrichshafen, Germany, specifically to go to Le Caveau, one of my favorite restaurants ever. Due to horrible traffic in Germany we almost arrived too late. But Corinne seated us and we had a lovely dinner, with the perfect local wine. I prefer common food, my wife is more haute cuisine, and we were both extremely satisfied. I'm even anticipating making a trip this Fall to stay in Alsace so we can visit Le Caveau a few more times. The choucroute is super and there's a lot of it, and the sausages and meats encroyable. My wife's confit was wonderful, and BTW, she did find room for the HUGE dessert, too.

Tucked away at the Albert Schweitzer end of town. The specialty is Choucroute , Alsatian sauerkraut dishes. Large portions are the norm, you won 't leave hungry here. Sadly, their fish dishes are flooded with sauce. The desserts have mountains of chantilly cream. Interesting to try but there are many other restaurants in town that are much better.

Very charming, old world style restaurant. No one speaks English and the menu is in French, so we got really confused on what was the fare. The food was good, just wish we had a better grasp of what was on the menu.
