Unfortunately, our visit was not as expected. We live in SC and was visiting family members for a mini-reunion. Family members recommended we get food at Ma Raffas. We ordered 2 large pizzas for take-out, a veggie and a magdelana (sp) pizza. The restaurant was about a 3 minute drive from where we were staying. The magdelana was cooked properly and did not stick to the cardboard box. However, the veggie pizza must have been undercooked as it stuck to the inside bottom of the cardboard box. We had to scrape slices from cardboard and not all of the slice was coming off the box. What we did get to eat, was floppy, not crispy like the magdelana. I recently picked up an order for the holidays from this restaurant. The chicken parm was not breaded and came with no tomato sauce. The lasagna, which I bought the largest platter of, was mostly thrown out as it was described as mushy by a guest who took one bite and pushed the plate away. The only item that was somewhat enjoyable was the meat sauce that I paid extra for on the side. I used to order from this place frequently for parties and gatherings, but the last few times have been disappointing. I was hoping it was just a fluke, but now I won't be ordering from here again. The prices are increasing and the food quality is becoming less and less appealing with each visit.
I have been a longtime patron of this restaurant since childhood, and it never fails to deliver delicious classic Italian cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. During my most recent visit, I ordered the chicken parm lunch and was thoroughly impressed by the flavorful chicken and generous portion size. The salad, bread, and entree lunch deal provided me with nearly enough food for a second meal, making it a great value at $10.99. The service was excellent, with our server taking great care of us. A lunch for three people with ample leftovers only cost us $45, making it an unbeatable deal!
Hello Nick, my wife and I stopped for lunch the other day, I'm sorry we missed you. The food was excellent, service was the same. The menu was quite extensive and has changed considerably since the menu on the wall when you were on the Ave. When my wife went to the restroom, I looked around and thought to myself This place is immaculate, clean how could my wife come back to the table, the first thing she tells me, This is the cleanest restaurant I've ever been. I guess we think we're similar. We'll be back, maybe for the 5lb pizza, Wojo style!
