Once again the meal at Maha was exceptional – this restaurant just goes from strength to strength. We opted for the now old favourite 4 course Souffra menu with its eclectic mix of middle eastern flavours and aromas. The truly stand-out dishes were the roast winter pumpkin, aleppo pepper spiced chicken and macadamiadish – extraordinary mouth-watering flavours – and the 12 hour roasted lamb shoulder, with cumin, garlic, onion and winter tarragon now with a little sauce reduction to make it just a bit more moist.However all the dishes tasted, and in particular the accompanying vegetable ones, were just as flavoursome - char grilled flat beans, olive oil, garlic, lemon and za’atar roasted cauli...
My hubby and I went to Maha on the weekend to celebrate my birthday. We live in QLD so flew to Melbourne to do Maha on Friday night and Heston on Saturday night. Maha seriously blew Heston out of the water. We experienced the 6 course degustation with matching wine which was sublime. We eat out a lot and in the past we have found matching wines to be unusual, not wines you would enjoy without food but not in this case, each wine could be drunk on their own and each wine matched the food beautifully. The food was amazing and the staff were exceptional. Not to mention there sensational cocktails. Oh the Negroni's. We went in at 6.30pm and had 4 and a half hours of an eating and drinking extrav...
Visited on Sat 29th July with a party of 7 guest. We selected the 5 course banquet. The dishes are disappointing compared to the amazing food I have had here in the past. We were all underwhelmed by the unexciting plates presented to us (with the exception of the pumpkin dish) Looking at all of the other reviews and photos, I wish we had ordered the 2 or 4 course banquet - the food looks more interesting. I eat and high end restaurants at least once every week so I have a reasonable yardstick to critique against. This used to be my favourite restaurant and I am not sure what has happened on the night we visited, but it did miss the mark for me.
The occasion was a night out for a visiting Japanese guest - from the moment we were greeted at the entrance to the restaurant to the time we left, the attention was excellent! There is an excellent and very extensive if pricey wine list and the choice of 2, 4, 6 or 8 course meals. We chose the 4 and the selections offered did not disappoint! The presentation was excellent for all meals and the tastes divine across a range of Foods. The one disappointment was the slow cooked lamb which although very flavoursome was a little dry. A thoroughly enjoyable occasion overall and will definitely go back!

Local friend recommended us this place. Because the price level is high we decided to go there for a lunch and take the four course lunch offer 55$. It was so good! Everything. Took also an expensice glass of wine so it was quite pricy lunch but really worth it. I think this was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere. We didn't book before hand but they organiced us a table even though it seemed to he quite busy day. All the waiters and waitresses were really friendly. I really recommend this to everyone who wants to try something new and delicious!
After missing out on Friday and Saturday nights we thought we would chance Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. We had to miss one course due to time but every part of each course - and we had the vegetarian version - was delicious. Not sure about the walnut baklava at the base of the dessert which came as crumbs rather than the usual nuts with pastry crunch but the honey ice cream and custard with the apple and pear was great.
Met some friends for the fixed Sunday mezze lunch. All the food was well presented, generous and of high quality. The portions were generous and great value. The wine list was extensive though would have liked even more wines from the region though.Would happily go back as enjoyed all the food. The service was great with good quality glasses and all the little touches that add to the dining experience.
We had the four course option and the food was just delightful. They are sensitive to allergies too. The wine match worked very well. Service was friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. The range and quality of the food was outstanding. We agreed this was the best restaurant we have been to in many years.

Booked this restaurant on advice from a friend From the greeting upon arrival to the excellent service, the ambience of this restaurant only adds to the experience. The middle eastern flavours and the wonderful presentation of the food will leave wanting to return for more.
