I used to love this place and ordered frequently when it was still named Mario 's Plaice . I loved the freshness and quality of the food. I assumed after the renovation and renaming to Simeone 's we would get equal or better quality. However, after going to simeones not long after it opened I was left disappointed with the meal killer of having bones in the fish. For a fish and chip shop this is the one thing that puts me and no doubt most others off, no one wants to be picking out fish bones from their mouth having a fish supper. I thought hopefully this was an off day and maybe the quality wasn 't there yet due to having just reopened so now a few months later I returned and sadly I had th...

Recently refurbished and with a change of name, it’s now SIMEONE’S It’s the same family run business. Staff are very friendly and food is always excellent. I nip in often for anything from a roll and sausage to an all day breakfast, fish tea, or home made pasta. There’s more choices on the menu including a deep fried Mars Bar, which I had once . Simeone’s has a take away (chip shop) and a separate but adjacent restaurant area where you see the same faces time and time again (always a good sign, as is the fact that many family members work in the business. Other staff have been there years too)
Stumbled across restaurant upon a recommendation and we were not disappointed. We both got fish and chips, the fish batter was delicious and crispy without being greasy, the chips were excellent and I had a delicious coffee afterwards. The waitress was amazing, we are visiting Glasgow with a young baby and nothing was too much trouble, she kept my food hot till I fed her, brought hot water to heat baby’s food, she was welcoming chatty and made us feel at home. Highly recommended and I will definitely visit again myself…
Little Restaurant with local waitress, who took our orders. Yet only one bathroom, and a little crowded. Good was a huge portion of delicious and hot fish and chips (depending on ones wishes, it might leak a little spice). As for the tea and lemonade I erased one star at service, since they were delayed until we were nearly done. Hence, the waitress seemed like a local and gave her best. Would go here again, it we get the chance Book a table now
Just been in for 2 fish teas to ease the lockdown boredom. Asked for special fish instead of batter (happy to pay an extra couple of quid for that)...when bill arrived it worked out at an extra £10 to have breadcrumbs!!!! ...having a laugh! Such a shame as food was great and staff were lovely but leaves a sour taste as ripping people off. Too many other options such as Catch or Old Salty’s...so sorry Simeones we won’t be back
Usually my go to for takeaway fish and chips but could be on the look out for a new one now. Ordered via uber eats and received what can be described as a half portion of a 'large ' haddock supper. Chips were not fresh and pretty stale. Haddock a bit wet with soggy batter unfortunately. Feel it 's easy to throw this out for a delivery and probably wouldn 't think of dishing this up for a sit in order.
Local family owned restaurant /chip shop/ take away. Recently refurbished. Friendly staff, great service. Most customers are regulars… anything from a coffee, snack, breakfast to a main meal or 3 course meal. Prices are reasonable and food always excellent
Amazing wee chippy, all items made fresh when you sit in. The service is good and the wee woman that works there is a great laugh. Very reasonably priced for being in the west end too, recommend. Book a table now
Simeones is a lovely little stop for excellent fish and chips. Beautiful batter on the fish, and perfect chips to accompany. Service was outstanding too, big thanks to Alice for being so lovely!
Abysmal service, very , very poor food. I was drawn in because it was the only place open so early on a Sunday morning. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else.
