Always love coming to Marta, was favorite Italian restaurant. But this time it was very disappointing with food: cheesy pasta and meat balls were really good, but veal from main did not taste good at all with this tasteless gravy on top; ravioli were wooden, undercooked, plus the ricotta inside was very powdery taste (mine home ricotta taste the same if it is unfrozen). Wine is always good. Also, just want to say thanks to management of Marta for removing this ridiculous pre deposit from the credit card of $100. Once went there with another couple and there was no option to split the bill at the end bc they already took $200 from my card. So now no deposits, sounds amazing ????????

We have eaten in this restaurant before and enjoyed the food. However tonight the opposite was true. The pasta dishes were ok but very small portions for an Australian restaurant, even by fine dining standards. A number of us had the tuna which was very disappointing indeed. The fish was completely overcooked. So dry and tasteless. Almost worse however than the sin of dramatically overcooking this usually delicious fish, was the sin of leaving a large number of scales on the skin which then made eating the dish very unpleasant to eat indeed. Totally unacceptable in any restaurant, especially one with a good reputation. Sadly we now feel we’ve lost a local and won’t be back.
The tastes were great, the pasta was fresh and the service from Diego was excellent. We had the Squid in a beautiful tomato base, Deep Fried gnocchi and some Focaccia which was beautiful and fluffy with extra virgin olive oil to start. We then progressed to the caccio e pepe, a glorious taste sensation and the Amatriciana which was balanced perfectly from the tomato to the chilli to the bacon. we finished of with a Mille Fiore which had a layer of limoncello custard and a layer of strawberry custard. Yummy. (PS excuse my spelling and Italian readers)
positive experience. the food was good and the ambiente was also good. only the problem was the service that was so and so. had to remember the waiters about missing wein and water all the time. not overall happy and will return Book a table now
One of the best, if not the best, Italian restaurant in Sydney. You can find some typical authentic Italian dishes other than the usual fries calamari, which you can't find anywhere else. Highly recommended!
A mixed result. The Auberginenparmigiana was excellent and one of the best I had. However, the Bratlachs was boiled over, dry and the accompanying Parsnip strips were soggy and tasteless.

Good pasta. Antipasto was excellent. Great wine selection. Outdoor seating available but we sat indoors. Martini kicked things off which is always good Book a table now

"I was satisfied with the food. Burgers are between $14.90 and $15.90. The drinks are more expensive than other places, and the free Wi-Fi is slow and stops working intermittently."
