My husband went to school at IU, so he loves to stop by mother bears whenever we are passing through Bloomington. This location is an expansion on the original, and we really like it. It is spacious, has much more parking than the original building, and the food is just as good. My husband had the lunch special which consists of a slice of pizza and four breadsticks, and he enjoyed it a lot. The pizza style is not thin crust, it is hearty. I didn’t see any rules posted about not signing the tables or wall art but people seem to respect the process and avoid those areas. And what about the food you ask? It is good. I personally like the deep dish with sauce on top. It is Chicago-esque style if you order it that way. A small 10” square pizza in that style will run you about $20 before tax and tip. The service at this restaurant was absolutely terrible. They forgot to bring one of our party's orders and then forced us to pay a mandatory gratuity, suggesting we add an extra tip on top of that. We will not be returning here.
