We visited Mother India on Saturday 19th March and had the most disappointing visit. I am not one for giving one star reviews too often, but given how much went wrong it’s the only score I can honestly give. The food was ok (but not...as good as I’d been told), but the service was just too bad to be true and therefore one star is appropriate. The reason for one star as follows…… We were forced to wait outside in the cold when there were only two other tables in front of us waiting. We had all booked, the tables were available, yet there seemed to be great difficulty for the manager in dealing with arrivals and allocating them a table. When we did eventually get to our table we were stuck in...

During our trip to Scotland, we had one of the worst dining experiences at this restaurant. The Indian food was possibly the worst we have ever had, despite being lovers of good Indian cuisine and having tried it in various countries. In addition to the bland and overpriced dishes, the maitre d' was rude and dismissive towards us, demonstrating an oversized ego by mistreating customers and yelling at the kitchen staff within earshot of the dining room. This created a very negative atmosphere. We would not recommend dining here if you are in the area; it is best to eat elsewhere.
We were obliged to go due to family do. There were no vegan options only vegetarian. Meal was ok but quite greasy and salty. Restaurant needs to move with the times and have a proper vegan menu. We avoided the naan bread as it looked like it had been buttered and was possibly made with yogurt. It's all a pity as it's a nice place in a good location.
I had a great dining experience at Mother India. I was impressed by the freshness, flavor, and quality of the food. Although they do not have a separate vegan menu, dishes are labeled if they contain dairy. It would be helpful if they could also specify what is vegan. Despite this, I really enjoyed my meal and would gladly dine there again. Book a table now
We were in in a busy Saturday night. Firstly the food was spectacular, as always. The service wasn’t great though slow, things ordered forgotten, asked to settle bill when we had already paid. It did feel like they just had too many people in....It wasn’t enough to spoil things though and i’ll be back without hesitation.
Briliant. One of the best Indian meals we have ever had and we’re seasoned travelers of India. Portions and quality made the slightly higher price completely worth it. We both had veg thali and veg pakoras and everything was mouth wateringly delicious. I will go on every trip to Glasgow from here on it!
Best. meal I've had in Scotland. Such nice people, too. Attentive, friendly. Clean. Food is fabulous. I had the garlic chili chicken and ohmyword, I'd make the trip back just for more. You can't go wrong with Mother India, however, book ahead. It's a busy...place.
this is an excellent restaurant. the quality of the food and service can also not be failed in a very busy Saturday. more attentive and knowledgeable. pakora freshly cooked (not only fried again) and fluffy naan. the delhi lamm was just fab! booking essential. Book a table now
went to recommended during a visit of glasgow for 5 days. eating was amazing, service excellent. the menu was not massif, but covered all tastes including vegetarian. I had that lame in mouth. I wish there was a mother india in a lot.
