Went out for a motorcycle ride and picked Mattawa as the destination. Upon arrival surveyed the eating options and settled on Myrt's. My waitress was Sheila and she was warm and friendly. I started with the Cream of Mushroom soup $4.99) which although it had...lots of mushrooms was rather bland. I followed that up with the Liver and Onions $13.99) as this looked like the type of place that would know how to cook it properly. The mashed potatoes with gravy and the mixed vegetables were all good but the liver was excellent. Tried on 2 days, dinner, then brunch while spending time in the area with no luck. First try we were told would be 45 mins or more to get seated. Second try told it would be a while. On a summers weekend in late August...would have hoped that small restaurant businesses would have more staff and be better able to serve travellers. Understand the plight of small business this year, but under staffing isn 't going to help the staff or potential customers. Had to go to the competition downtown, then the chain where we saw most others drove through. Very unfortunate for all involved.
the parking lot was full. we sat an hour to arrest us. the waitress was ingenious that she took care of 17 complete tables, the ordered food crowded the tables when she was finished and the money worked. Woman had breakfast 2 eggs about light, Peameal...Bacon 3 piece had Hasch-Braun (deeply fritted) this did not go very well as many of them on the tellers on other tables. I had a panzerotti ofen baked was very delicious. again the waitress kicked ass
this is a great family restaurant with home cooked meals. we stayed for dinner and another day to the breakfast there. one must try breakfast is their smashed kartoffeln grill with swirling and speck roast! the personal is friendly and attentive. good and good. it is not beautiful and it is not expensive. Was a great lunch! It was wing Monday so hubby had wings and Buffalo chips. I had the clubhouse and fries. Excellent food and great service!! Good old small town family restaurant. Beats the heck out of fast food!!
sat for dinner and returned to the breakfast while staying in the city. all enjoyed their meals of fishing and chips, to suppe, too breakfast domestic frits and pancakes. buttercake was also amazing.
We ordered 3 pizzas, 2 wings (medium and BBQ) and 2 caesar salads. While the order took longer than the 30 minutes we were told, it came complete, hot, and delicious. Would definitely recommend.
One of the few dine-in option during COVID times in Mattawa. We enjoyed our food but it was nothing special. Not particularly cheap but prices are up and options are very limited. I'd go back. Book a table now
