Since 2013, Nile Restaurant has been my go-to place for authentic and flavorful dining. The couple who owns the restaurant has done an incredible job of maintaining its rich culture and traditional flavors over the years. My all-time favorite dish is the Lamb Derek Tibs, paired with Spicy Awasi. While I've tried other items on their menu, nothing compares to this combination for me. First time trying Ethiopian food and it was really tasty and enjoyable. We ordered a tartare and a veggie platter and everything came out on a large tray and we were handed this sour pancake like bread that we used to eat everything. The flavors were rich and tangy. The flavor profile was unlike anything else I had ever tried. I think it'd be a very specific kind of craving but I already know that I'd love to go back when that craving hits!
My husband and I have dined in once and ordered takeout once, and both experiences were great! The girl working was super nice, food came out hot and fresh, takeout was ready right when we got there, and the food has been delicious! Will continue to order takeout and if you like flavorful food, you should too!
COVID 19 Note: They're open 11 a.m. 8 p.m. for takeout 7 days a week! It's good, folks! Really good! The food is always exceptional. It's good to expect an authentic Ethiopian experience, so go with the flow and enjoy a slow evening.
