beautiful atmosphere, very friendly reception and impressive eating. we had to start oysters and chicken wings, both excellent. then we both had a half lobster than our head, which we could have been larger in view of the price, but overall tasted amazing. only marked the service a little since we had to wait to get someone the attention to serviettes and extra cutlery, but they were very friendly and clearly experienced. enjoy our visit, would highly recommend!
the waitress and waitress was very attentive and always to check on them when they needed something, the restaurant itself was very pretty and had a nice mood. service was fast too, but not too fast felt not rushed to eat my food. the only one was the main course I had the whole brixham plaice and my man had tasted the game cake a little bland, but still was very well cooked, the fish was the perfect texture to eat and the cake crust was excellent.
have visited many paintings and we are always looking forward to it. this time, although it seemed that a change of the staff and service had been slow and not on the usual standard (they gave our table booking while we had a pre-dinner drink and then our order not to make it, it is gone into the kitchen, which means we had 1 hour waiting for eating). in general, it is a great place for a special night out, but I would expect better next time.
