The food isn't all that great - the flavours bland and most of the sauces very watery.  But it's cheap and they have generous servings, so if you're hungry but poor, and not all that fussy, you can get a big feed of kind of mediocre food here.  I've had butter chicken (watery and kind of funky) and some of the vegetarian dishes (which are often a mix of both undercooked and overcooked at the same time - mostly raw mushrooms in vegi mush), and was very unimpressed. It's not horrible, I have had worse, but it's certainly not that great, either. Oh, but the plain Lassi is very nice, I do like that. In fact it's worth dropping by just to get a take out container of Lassi (the only way...

When all the cards are down, all hope lost, all self-dignity robbed barren from your exploits of Oxford Street and not a cent left to pay for one square foot of rent, you can still emerge triumphant by indulging in something that somewhat resembles real indian food and still enjoy a good night out! Theres enough meat and flavour on that plate to be happy about. Its one of the few surviving establishments on Oxford street that remains familiar on this iconic strip since the lockout laws came in, so we must keep supporting the iconic establoshments in our small business community... The Butter Chicken never lets me down in the years ive had been having it here!

Do not be put off by the bain-marie , I usually am, but a lot of traffic goes through this place so the dishes are refreshed regularly. It's no frills, but this place makes seriously good curries. Great value too, 3 choices with rice for $10.50 - large size. And it really is large, looking around the restaurant everyone has a huge mound of food in front of them. I had the goat masala, allo eggplant and chicken madras. I also got the mango chutney and yogurt, condiments which took the curries to another level. Just close your eyes if you have to, order and eat - you will enjoy it. Book a table now

Its very good value for money and decently tasty. It's cheap indian take out. You can get a chicken tikka wrap for like $6 and you will be full. And if you get 3 meat curries with rice its less than $10. Its big bold strong flavours, don't expect delicate flavours or finesse.

Butter Chicken + Rice + Garlic Naan Bread = $12.90  Really good value but the food is bland. The butter chicken had little to no taste, and the naan bread was stale. I'll be giving them another go, hopefully it was just a one off.

The food is good. I mean when you compare with the price, it is a great choice. Don't expect anything fancy, but if you are looking for good Indian food at a decent price then it is an option you can explore.
