This restaurant is clean and has plenty of tables with chess games to keep people entertained while enjoying their ice cream. We arrived late and unfortunately they were out of mint chocolate chip and vanilla s'mores flavors. My nieces and nephews love coming here to play chess. The ice creams are rich and tasty. Make sure to try their s'mores, although they were sold out when we visited. This is our favorite spot for ice cream when we're in Chicago. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. The atmosphere is clean and roomy. We will definitely be returning.
The wait time for an ice cream cone at this restaurant is ridiculously long. Although the ice cream itself is tasty, it is not worth waiting for. However, when I revisited the restaurant to speak with the employee who responded to my review, he was not present. Instead, I spoke with a very friendly shift manager who listened to my concerns about the wait time. She kindly offered me a complimentary apple crisp sundae as an apology. During this second visit, the restaurant was mostly empty.
Having lived in the Chicago area for over 40 years and having enjoyed Oberweis many times before moving West, I can say that the Schaumburg Oberweis was excellent earlier this week. However, the Rolling Meadows location was a disaster. For the prices they charge for shakes, they need to improve how the staff distinguishes between a shake and chocolate milk so that customers will want to return. We might give the Schaumburg location another try due to brand loyalty, but it's uncertain.
I absolutely adore this ice cream shop, always have. It's our family's favorite spot for delicious ice cream. I have been a loyal customer since I was a child, and it's disheartening to see it becoming increasingly empty each year. I particularly enjoy the indoor tables, as some of them have chess sets which provide entertainment. Although the prices may be a bit high, it's understandable as they need to keep their small business afloat. Book a table now
The customer service at this Oberweis location was excellent! It was our first visit and we were very impressed. The staff was friendly, polite, and greeted us warmly both upon arrival and departure. The server even offered us a sample before we placed our order. The dining area and restrooms were clean as well. Thank you for providing us with a pleasant experience!
The ice cream here is absolutely delicious! It is always fresh, cold, and creamy. It is the perfect treat for the winter holidays.

Had a soft serve bowl of vanilla ice cream. Found out they stopped serving chocolate soft serve a while ago. Book a table now
