At 6:20 I asked if we could have a table that wasn't in the middle of the room because I am hearing impaired. I was told every table was taken, yet no one sat a over half the tables until 9 o'clock when we were about done. 3 meals came out and my rare tuna took an extra 10 minutes. The restaurant wasn't really busy until we were leaving yet and yet we had to ask for bread 3 times. It is a beautiful restaurant and each time we give it another try it's like the NY giants, disappointing.
I had a somewhat disappointing experience at the restaurant. Since they were closing the next day until March, they had run out of ingredients and had to make unsatisfactory substitutions—lemon sorbet served with peach cobbler, for example. The portions were small, but the prices were high. The service was well-intentioned, but overall, it was just an underwhelming New Year's Eve dinner. The decorations were uninspired, and the 70s cover music felt out of place for the occasion.
Excellent all around! Jason Reiff and his staff provide a friendly, professional experience in a beautiful setting overlooking the marina on the Shrewsbury River directly facing Sandy Hook. The food is terrific all around. I especially enjoy the salmon and fresh fish of the day.
Charming restaurant with exceptional service. The menu and dishes appear impressive and enticing, but the food was only average. I would definitely consider returning for lunch in the summer, as the location and view are absolutely stunning. Book a table now
