My friend and I planned an overnight trip to Paoli from Chicago and discovered this delightful schoolhouse bistro. The surrounding community was charming, and the bistro’s interior was stunning, featuring a light and airy atmosphere that exuded casual elegance. We chose to sit outside on the porch to enjoy our meal along with my friend's dog, who was kindly provided with a bowl of water. Although we only ordered salads, they were fresh and delicious, enhanced by homemade dressings that were both light and flavorful. The friendly staff added to the overall pleasant experience, making it a wonderful place for lunch.
Pork chop was surprisingly hard to cut through. Beef Wellington was simply steak (cooked properly) in puff pastry, without duxelles, ham, or pancake. Waitstaff were professional, manager/owner (I hope) who interrupted our conversation to check in never actually introduced himself. Also, live music was outside but unhearable as windows (on a 73 degree day) were closed. On the whole, very disappointing for the price.
New favorite restaurant in the area! Pretty location by the river and lovely ambience inside and out. Live music added a nice touch and was enjoyable but not overpowering. So many good options on the menu and we were delighted with all our choices, especially the fresh asparagus soup and the beef Wellington. We also appreciate all the locally sourced options. Truly a unique and memorable dining experience!

Paoli Schoolhouse Restaurant is terrific! I took my 98 year old dad. There is a ramp up to the back of the restaurant so that made it easy for him, (no stairs). The food forSunday Brunch is outstanding, the service is outstanding, the restaurant is lovely and beautifully decorated. It is consistently one of the best meals in the Madison area. Also the staff has a very good vibe. My family loves this place!
Fabulous meals! Everyone at our table of 4 loved their meal and the quality and presentation was superb. The music (acoustic guitar) was also very very good. We will come back and highly recommend this restaurant. It is my favorite Madison restaurant based on the restaurants I have gone to in the area.
The service was exceptional, as was the food. The tomato soup was remarkable, and the steak and lamb dishes were outstanding as well. There was a great selection of wines. Our server was both friendly and professional, and we really appreciated the cozy ambiance of the intimate setting.
Our first visit was great. We ordered the huevos rancheros and the shrimp and grits. Both dishes were delicious. A pleasant surprise was that they each had a touch of spice! We also enjoyed the cocktails we ordered. We will return!

A wonderful dining experience again. This was the second annual visit for our guests, and we'll all looking forward to next year' return and more Chilean sea bass. Fantastic!
