Went in one evening a couple of weeks ago and what an absolute dump to where it was about 6 months ago. Full of kids who I caught taking drugs in the toilets just out in the open. The beer tasted like the lines hadn’t been cleaned or it might’ve been out of date I don’t know but it wasn’t good at all. The blonde lady walking around the pub claiming she’s the new landlady has no personality whatsoever and would rather watch the staff struggle behind the bar and carried on drinking. I came last year with my family and it had such a great atmosphere, food was great and the staff were amazing! lovely pub went for lunch with a friend .bar staff and new landlady lovely and friendly seems people writing false bad reviews as not happy that previous management had to leave it needs to stop some of these bad reviews are very untrue it is a family friendly pub she’s new and just trying to run a business becareful or your local will close down then you’ll all be moaning just go out and enjoy yourself and don’t believe everything you hear and read
We came in for the quiz and was presently surprised on how welcoming and clean the pub was , we tried the Tuesday deal which was 241 burgers and ordered small plates too , both manager and land lady were on site and were friendly and willing to have a chat , food arrived quickly and came out well plated and tasted lovely Would recommend and would attend again Just want to say thank you for all the staff making us welcome
we fell in and found it happy to be grill Thursday, would be taken a picture of the food, but it just looked good so eat first checked second . loved it .friendly welcome if we quickly entered with menus and good bar service and I must say exceptional value and quality for 2 steaks . will fall defo on our plans again! Maybe on curry dienstag (and curry drink)

The new owners turned this lovely pub into an unwelcoming place for families! This used to be local go to place for families! Rude management with anger issues towards the local community!
excellent village pub just a few kilometers from the city center of chester! good selection of drinks. hot eating served up to 9 o'clock. helpful and friendly staff! highly recommended!
Staff are amazing, food was amazing couldn’t recommend enough best place for miles so I’d definitely recommend going for some food or a drink .
