A truly special evening. The walls, which once housed Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Melbourne, have been transformed in to a French Bistro, the open kitchen is bustling and alive with the skilled craftsmen of cuisine. The food is, simply, beautiful. The chestnut veloute with mushroom emulsion is rich, sweet and luxurious. It's envelops you in it's decadent warmth. The beetroot cured salmon with winter vegetable salad tastes as beautiful as it looks, pink tipped slivers of salmon with shaved fennel and beautiful heirloom baby beetroot create such a wonderful colour contrast on the plate. 25 years ago, Philippe Mouchel prepared our first French dinner at Paul Bocuse at Melbourne Central after we were married. We returned to eat at Philippe’s restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. We eat at the “pass” where Philippe and his team of talented chefs prepared an amazing La Table Des Chefs seasonal foods cooked, presented and explained by the team. It was supposed to be 5 courses but as the sommelier said “ I think Chef likes you” and it ended up being 6. An amazing experience and one that should be high on the foodie wish list. The particular dinner we went to was a culmination and hommage to the great chef Phillipe Mouchel. The event was an amazing and tantalizing journey into his career thus far and one of the highlights for me was the return of Phillipe's favourite chefs to the kitchen where each prepared courses from each of his previous restaurants. If you have ever wanted to taste the food from his career then this was the night! Whilst most people will not experience a night like this again as the chefs return to their own kitchens , we will be back to Phillipe to take the journey and experience from his menu again soon.

I've been busting to get here since it opened. The wait and anticipation was well rewarded with the service and food. The staff were all lovely and looked after our group of six flawlessly. Then there was the food. Entrees of Wagyu tartare, escargots, charcuterie were all delicious with red Burgundy. Of course, rotisserie chicken was ordered. Along with duck porterhouse and rib eye. All were happy, especially me who got to sample a few dishes of other peoples plates. Get there! Book a table now

I've been following Chef Phillipe around Melbourne since the early 90's and have never been disappointed by his food, charm and service team. His longevity in the food scene is testament to his love of fine food and hospitality and it shows in every bite of every dish. Highly recommended!!

The service was warm and attentive. Loved Philippe's menu offering and the wine list. Felt like I was in a bistro in France rather than in Melbourne! The Philippe team made our 10th wedding anniversary dinner a memorable one for our treasure trove of memories. Thank you Philippe Team!!!

Service is fantastic and the food is just out of this world!!! I ordered 4 meals and also had a taste of my partners and each dish was 10/10. It's not often a restaurant can get 5 star reviews from me, will recommend this place to anyone and everyone!! Bravo Phillipe

We had a lovely dinner (wedding anniversary). Great food service. We happened across “Phillippe” by chance, while out looking for somewhere to eat on a Monday night. As a bonus, it was Jazz night. Only sorry we couldn’t have eaten more! Book a table now
