Coffee is always solid, of course — at this point, I feel like it’s consistent across all Philz. BUT here is the reason I gave them three stars. 1) This is the first Philz that I’ve gone to where the customer service was ‘meh’. Now, I don’t expect a red carpet or nothing crazy but I stood there for my pick-up order via door dash for almost 10 mins. No one acknowledged me, which is fine as I was “early” for my 4:15pm order. But once it hit 4:14, I had to get the attention of an employee to pick up my 4:15 order which was already sitting there hidden behind the counter. Philz Coffee has been quite inconsistent for me. I ordered the Winter Bliss on two separate occasions for my girlfriend and myself, and both times there were different issues. During the first visit, the coffee was lukewarm, even though I ordered it inside. The second time, it lacked the spices and foam that were advertised, and there was an overwhelming amount of chocolate in it. The chocolate flavor completely overshadowed everything else, to the point that when I got home, I had to make more coffee just to balance out the taste, but it still didn’t help. I’ve been consistently impressed with Philz Coffee. Every time I place an order—especially when it includes special ingredients—my drink is prepared exactly the way I like it. The attention to detail and consistency in quality are exceptional. Ordering through the mobile app is seamless, and my drink is always ready on time. I also truly appreciate the baristas for their excellent service and care. Their dedication makes each visit a great experience. The most convoluted coffee order ever.Ordered a coffee and cookie and somehow had get in line twice at the counter to get my order. Staff had wonderful singing voice yet unfortunately not wonderfully helpful, could not find any info on the types of coffee served, which I remember Philz being famous for this. Was the coffee I finally received good; yes it was! However, the experience and frustration means I probably won't be returning soon.
There is an employee who takes orders occasionally. I've noticed a few times that when she sees me walking towards the order counter, she steps aside and tries to avoid me for as long as she can. After a few minutes, she eventually comes back to take my order.
Hey there! Just wanted to share my Philz Coffee experience in Colma today. Tried the Philz Mocha Tesora earthy, rich, with fine cocoa. Such a delicious treat! It gave me a perfect in the moment feeling. Highly recommend it! Go, go, go!
My favorite Mocha Tesora!It's impressive how they dissolve cocoa in iced coffee, which has very low sugar.Very refreshing and tasty.Nice cozy place.The only downside is that the outdoor seating is not clean enough!
