After arriving in St Andrews on an unwelcoming rainy night, and finding that the hotel we'd booked was unexpectedly not prepared to serve us dinner, we had to find somewhere to eat in a hurry. My wife has just had twelve weeks of chemotherapy following breast cancer, and her diet is limited, so this wasn't easy. Pizza Express couldn't help but offered us the chance to come back on spec in half an hour or so and a very helpful, friendly girl on the desk, Olivia, even took our name so that we'd be remembered. We came back, were seated against the odds, and Olivia served us brilliantly. No one could have been kinder, more helpful or more friendly. Indeed all the staff were good, but she was exc...
We ordered a pizza and pasta dish from a restaurant that was advertised on their menu outside the shop for £15 each. However, when the man rang up the order, he tried to charge us nearly £17 for each dish. When we questioned this, he went outside and returned saying that it was an old menu. We found this response to be absolutely disgraceful. If the menu shows a price, that is what they should sell it for. We decided to cancel our order on principle and the man did not seem to care. He simply shouted to the chefs to cancel the order in front of everyone. We were unimpressed and will not be returning to this establishment. Shame on you for false advertising.
We do not make a habit of visiting fast food chains but the St Andrews Pizza Express is different. Brilliant location, outstanding staff and of course great value for money using converted Tesco vouchers. In addition the food is excellent. I have enjoyed linguine and cannelloni on our last two visits great sides and starters. This restaurant is always busy which tells a story. It is centrally located in beautiful St Andrews and close to all amenities including the local cinema. I cannot emphasise how brilliant the staff have been on each of our three visits with and without young children.
Catrina served us very well indeed. Her attention to detail was most evident from where I was sitting. She ensured the glasses were sparking,clean and polished ….just how I like them. This is one of the essentials in a restaurant. Her table service was timely and faultless. Italian food and beer is not high on my desire list BUT tonight the pizza was most appetising and the Nastro thirst quenching. All in all a good night made by excellent service ….in a busy restaurant . Well done Catrina . Thank you.

We were initially turned away and told that the restaurant was full, even though there were plenty of empty tables. We finally got a table 45 minutes later, but we wish we had just gone to Mozza instead. We ended up paying £61 for three pizzas and three soft drinks, which we felt was way too expensive for a lunchtime meal. The service was mediocre and the pizzas were just okay, so we didn't feel like it was worth a return visit.
Very disappointed to be turned away as they were “full” ! Really? empty tables with used plates uncleared on outside tables, hardly full or prepared for the incoming “reservations” seems like a common catchphrase, we have heard a lot Thanks to the customer who sent us to Mozza around the corner who were immediately welcoming and the food is brilliant!

The staff were fantastic, the food was delicious, and I would highly recommend this restaurant. Despite being very busy, the waitress was lovely and provided excellent service. The starters, pizza, and pasta were all excellent.

Ordered the Spicy guissepe delivery, you would think you couldn't forget to put cheese on the pizza, but you'd be wrong. Following me contacting them about this, no compensation was offered. Won't be ordering again
