Having seen others excellent reviews of Primrose Hill Nurseries, we were excited to go to a garden centre we hadn't been to before for a family birthday. Sadly the reviews did not meet with what we experienced. Firstly giant pot holes in the drive way, secondly the shop as you walked in needed attention. The plant section was fine, the plants were in good order. Quite a variety for a small garden centre. The cafe was the biggest let down. Not welcoming at all. Was given dirty looks by both staff members who were seated at one of the tables. They never said hello, or can we help you? Nothing. Very frosty. For a Monday morning there was very little to tempt you as the cakes looked as if they'd...

My review is only based on the Fruit festival event as this drew me in to visit the garden centre. Seemed a little under prepared for the numbers of visitors. The overflow car park was feeling chaotic with cars getting stuck in the mulch and no pedestrian path, so small kids and parents walking between moving cars and near the stuck ones. The bbq ran out of sausages by 13:30 and it took 20min to get a coffee from the internal coffee shop. Unsure what the fruit element of the festival was apart from a table of berry plants on sale? The positives… The garden centre is small but has a nice selection of plants at decent prices.

I had been let down badly by Thompson Morgan who in exchange for a tidy sum delivered a few scraggy plants but mostly stiffed me on the remainder. I phoned Primrose Hill nursery, explaining that I was in the age vulnerable category. The owner, Ian, took my details and then, later that day, picked sixteen plants which he delivered to my car in the parking bay. I realised that I needed compost and he got it for me and brought a card reader to the car and placed it on the boot for me to swipe. The plants, which were incredibly healthy, have thrived and my hanging baskets are a joy. Thanks. Your nursery was a summer saver.

Had a lovely hour or so with my mum and dad, just wandering around the nursery before each of us having an all day breakfast. We had to chop and change some of the items due to allergies and this was done with no fuss and bother. All three breakfasts were served piping hot and at the same time. They were really tasty and we polished them off in no time. The owners were lovely, informative and it was just a pleasure being in such a relaxed, peaceful environment. Thank you. Book a table now

This nursery is well worth a visit on the run up to Christmas. Staff have spent a great deal of time and effort to ensure there is something for everyone in the family. We spent two hours here and my little girl wanted to go back though again. Although this activity is free to attend it is for charity and any donation is welcome.

Lovely to stop off somewhere safe clean and covid organised. Freshly cooked food, great teas and coffee. Nothing too much trouble, nice naughty cakes too. Then you can shop for garden stuff and pet food too, not got it they will order for you.

Lovely clean cafe, staff very pleasant, good choice of food, fresh and tasty, and well presented. Downside, we were cold. Asked if the fan heater by the counter could be switched on, unfortunately she forgot to do it!

Excellent, clean and friendly atmosphere serving well cooked /presented food. With the added bonus of a stroll around the reasonably priced garden centre. Very clean toilet.
