This beer-themed gastropub in Birmingham city centre is a joint venture with input from Purity Brewing Co. and Simpson’s Restaurant. With two such highly-regarded names on it, Pure Bar and Kitchen arrived on the scene to very high expectations. We went to find out if it delivers. Atmosphere The venue is set up to have a contemporary feel; the interior has the look of a loft or warehouse flat. On the Saturday night when we attended, they had a good amount of young people in for a few beers. There’s a nice separation of the drinkers from the diners, so that it’s not too loud while you’re eating, but you still get a hum of background noise. Food Given the impressive selection of beers and ales...

I was first introduced to Purity ales at last year 's Birmingham Independent Food Fair, and I 've had my eye on Pure Bar Kitchen since it opened, so I headed over there to give it a try. First impressions were good, a bit more light and airy and a bit less 'hardcore ' looking than its craft beer counterpart Brewdog, but with some fab industrial touches, particularly the bar. The beer menu was vast, with all the Purity offerings from classics UBU, Mad Goose and Pure Gold, to newer additions in the form of Longhorn IPA and Lawless Lager, alongside a long list of guest beers from Europe and beyond. I 'm a big fan of an IPA, so I went for a pint of Longhorn to start with. At 5% abv it 's a good...
After a very busy few weekends spent packing boxes, moving house, and then unpacking said boxes, I haven’t been out much. Last weekend was the first one in weeks where I could relax, so a well deserved beer was on the cards. After visiting the Christmas Market in Birmingham we were looking for somewhere to get some dinner. We came across Pure and were lucky enough to be able to get a table. We ordered a selection of dishes to share including the Scotch Eggs with Beer Ketchup, a small Macaroni Cheese, Pork Scratchings, Pumpkin and Lentil Salad and a Pork Pie with Piccalilli. I have to say everything was fantastic, I think the highlight were the Scotch Eggs, they were still warm and slightly runny in the middle. Everything was delicious and extremely filling. As we had a couple of bottles of wine and made an evening of it, we later decided to order a dessert to share. We ordered the Bacchus Framboise Arctic Roll W... Book a table now
I often go because eating rarely disappoints. the menu has clarity, although it should have been designed by the man behind the local michelin triumphant simpsons and the cross. there are nods to ales on taps and suggestions for what to drink beer so that all tie in beautiful with its connections to runiform. a small plate of grilled chicken looks cuts from the breast, the atn and the wing exactly boiled. the bird is of obvious quality, the skin crisp and with a backnote of dark bearing, which sits well without exaggerated. soured cream offers the small amount of acid needed to make them all out.
Grade A food, seriously good beer and friendly service is on the menu here. I will for sure be coming back at some point. It's obvious that the attention to detail in there service is a focus here. The food is exceptionally well presented and equally as well seasoned. What a delight!
Cold coffee anyone! Purity Brewing: Rixie Nitro Stout, 5.5%. This bar has something for everyone, unless you're a non-drinker and should stay indoors, drinking your filtered water. PureCraft PureBrewing. Probably about 20 beers available here, so don't be greedy.....pace yourself!
Brilliant. Great Sunday lunch. I called beforehand as we were on a fairly tight schedule and we were not disappointed. The staff were helpful, prompt... Book a table now
