We stayed in Besancon on a damp October Tuesday and had previously done our homework on where to go. Make sure you have a map, its not in the middle of town. We got there at 7.30pm and it was occupied by only 2 other couples. We were asked if we had a booking which seemed odd for a Tuesday . Luckily we got a table. By 8.30pm it was heaving with locals, all of whom were frequent customers judging by the greeting the staff gave them. The ambience was friendly, relaxed and the food very good. I chose the Antipasta Misto as a starter to share . The platter was huge, i thought the waitress had had trouble with my poor French until i saw we'd only been charged for one. We visited this restaurant several times in recent years, and every time we enjoyed the delicious food and personal service. The restaurant looks like a family restaurant, not more than ten tables located on the north side of the river in one of the steep streets of the world from the river toward the north. Friend ordered pasta with asparagus was amazing its rich flavor, I chose to take Pasta with olive oil sauce and grounded pepper spicy flavor. Along with the meal were served homemade rolls were excellent and we finished with two cups of excellent espresso.
Very disappointed! I return to this restaurant after 5 years abroad and the pizzas we ordered were disappointing, without any taste. The dough was not cooked, very little tomato sauce, and no gustative interest, no good Italian smell. Very disappointed because in my memories this restaurant was excellent. What has not changed: the welcome always as unpleasant of the boss but before I passed over, now it makes a lot of negative points.
It's excellent even if it doesn't pay a mine: located in a typical street of old Besançon. The service is smiling, but the person who makes the pizzas is not, and the problem is that it is in the room, near the pizza oven. We're kind of inconvenient, but the contents of the plate make us forget this inconvenience.
