Grabbed dinner to go on a whim for my wife and two grown sons. First time at this location and I was very impressed. The order was taken very quickly, prepared accurately, and delicious. We ordered a wide variety of entrees and even customized a few (no tortilla strips in my salad. I hadn't planned on buying dinner but we were all busy and a healthy, delicious dinner for 4 for $46 out the door is very fair.
Steak Street tacos weren't bad. Did not care for the beans at all. Though, Steak had a nice flavor. My son got the California burrito he found it to be spicy.. I like spicy he doesn't. 3 stars because it doesn't really stand out as great or excellent food but not terrible. $26 got 3 street tacos the burrito, small container of beans and 2 drinks.
Place always sounds better in my head than it actually is. Food is good, and I'll always go back, but things like asking for salsa gets old. I just want some freedoms like getting my own salsa back.
Did you know the first Rubio?s was a walk-up taco stand in Mission Bay, San Diego. This one is decent too.
