The last time I went, my order was never turned in... the waitress had a bad attitude, and after an hour, I asked about my order? She said it was busy, but no, it wasn't. Big groups of people who came AFTER us, got their food. I want to start by saying that the ambiance of this restaurant is very pleasant. The restaurant is filled with natural light and has a cozy beach brunch vibe. The staff was fine and our food arrived fairly quickly. However, despite the nice atmosphere, the food is the most important part of the dining experience. If nothing unfortunate had happened, I would have given it 3 stars. I ordered the Scotty's Special and it was quite mediocre. The omelette was too scrambled and fell apart easily. The hollandaise sauce on top was tasteless. The omelette itself did not taste very good, likely due to lower quality eggs. I have visited this restaurant many times over the years and have always enjoyed the great Southern California view. The food and prices have always been very reasonable. However, this time I was disappointed with the service. I ordered eggs, hash browns, and toast, but the young waitress seemed overwhelmed and forgot the toast. Despite trying to get her attention, she was preoccupied talking to other waitresses and never came back to check on us. I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. I couldn't locate the original meeting spot, but I found convenient parking right in front of Scotty's. I decided to change the meeting location to there. I was pleasantly surprised by the fantastic view of the restaurant once I entered. You can sit at a comfortable, air-conditioned table, enjoy delicious food, and watch people. The French dip sandwich was delicious. Now that I know parking is free and easy to find, this has become my go-to spot.

Came for some hot chocolate and breakfast. The hot chocolate alone is my 5 stars. I enjoyed my food very much. It's a cold morning so it's a bit quiet but service was good and your at the beach so the ambiance is always good here. Parking was free for the holidays so that was another plus
So good! We actually visited twice on our recent stay. The service and location is superb and the menu great. Some of the best scrambled eggs I have tasted in the states. Definitely recommend, even if just for the people watching!
We love Scotty's! My husband has been coming here since he was a small child. We wish the Strand tables would come back, but we'll keep coming nonetheless.
